Giannis Antetokounmpo, F/C, Milwaukee Bucks
DraftKings Points Rating: 99 | FanDuel Points Rating: 99
As usual, Antetokounmpo stands out as the top play of the day from a points perspective. He struggled on Saturday, finishing with just 46.75 DraftKings points over 34.1 minutes, but he has still averaged an elite 1.79 DraftKings points per minute this season. He has also posted a usage rate of at least 35.5% in back-to-back games, which represents a sizable increase from his mark of 32.5% last year.
Antetokounmpo takes the floor in a tough spot against the Jazz, who currently rank second in the league in defensive efficiency. That said, Antetokounmpo is still projected for the most points on the slate, and only Luka Doncic is even in the same ballpark. Antetokounmpo is also $800 cheaper than Doncic on DraftKings, making him the clear top choice between the two. Things are a bit closer on FanDuel, but Giannis still grades as the better value despite being more expensive.
Daniel Theis, PF/C, Houston Rockets
DraftKings Value Rating: 88| FanDuel Value Rating: 91
Theis is not a sexy DFS option, but he is underpriced across the industry on Sunday. He is just $4,000 on both DraftKings and FanDuel, but he has served as the Rockets’ primary center for most of the year. He was limited to just 20.3 minutes in Thursday’s blowout loss to the Jazz, but he played 29.2 minutes in his previous contest. Kevin Porter Jr. is also questionable, so Theis could see a few additional minutes if he is ultimately ruled out. Theis averaged 0.90 DraftKings points per minute last year, so he does not need a ton of playing time to pay off his current salary.
Additionally, Theis is popping in the Boom/Bust Tool. He currently has the fourth-highest optimal lineup rate on DraftKings, but he is projected for just 14.9% ownership. That gives him a great leverage score. He is even more positively leveraged on FanDuel, making him an excellent target for guaranteed prize pools. Finally, Wood could be worth exploring in the prop market. The over on his rebounding prop has an expected win rate of 60% in the Awesemo Player Prop tool, making it one of the strongest wagers on the slate.
Josh Jackson, SG, Detroit Pistons
DraftKings Leverage Rating: 100 | FanDuel Leverage Rating: 100
The Pistons are giving Cade Cunningham the night off on the second leg of a back-to-back, and Jackson should be one of the biggest beneficiaries. He averaged 0.97 DraftKings points per minute last year, which makes him an elite producer given his price range. He has scored at least 31.5 DraftKings points in two of his past three games, so he is underpriced at $4,400 on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Jackson is projected for less than 10% ownership across the industry, so he could be a nice contrarian target on this slate.
