In NBA DFS and daily fantasy basketball as a whole, it is not as simple as rostering who we think the best play is. We have to consider the odds each individual player has of going off or busting. Nobody is a sure thing. With the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool, we have our own odds to help us navigate range of outcomes for NBA daily fantasy. These are some of the NBA DFS picks on DraftKings and FanDuel that have the best NBA DFS projections of booming or busting according to our tool.

DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust Projections | March 1
NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
Damian Lillard vs. Hornets: $10,100/$10,400
40.6% DraftKings Boom/50.3% FanDuel Boom
Lillard’s price is a bit too cheap when considering his recent production. With the Trail Blazers continuing to deal with injuries, Lillard is keeping this team afloat. Portland is in the playoff picture in the West, as he is playing 37 minutes per game with a 36.7% usage rate over the last six games. This is leading to an average of 56.46 DraftKings points per game over this stretch. Lillard is in play on most slates and is a top spend-up option until CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic return from injuries.
LaMelo Ball vs. Blazers: $8,700/$7,800
21.8% DraftKings Boom/42.4% FanDuel Boom
Ball is a near lock to win the Rookie of the Year Award. Short of an injury, this race is wrapped given how well he’s playing. Since moving into the starting lineups, Ball is averaging well over 40 fantasy points per game and doing it with incredible efficiency. He has 45.2/40.7/86.4 shooting slits since taking over as the starting point guard. The future is now in Charlotte since Ball has the team in the hunt for a playoff spot. He is also tasked with a bigger role at the moment because of all the injuries the Hornets are dealing with. Gordon Hayward, Devonte’ Graham and Cody Zeller are all questionable to play.

Patty Mills vs. Nets: $4,700/$3,900
13.2% DraftKings Boom/32.4% FanDuel Boom
We don’t have much value available to us early in the day. As always, this is subject to change, and there are a number of key players listed as questionable on the injury report like Hayward, Joel Embiid and Malcolm Brogdon. With what we are currently looking at, Mills is one of the only viable cheap plays. The Spurs have five players out due to COVID, which is opening up extra minutes for Mills. Even though he isn’t starting, Mills came off the bench to play 30 minutes last game, and his price remains relatively cheap.
NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Zion Williamson vs. Jazz: $9,000/$8,900
71.8% DraftKings Bust/54.1% FanDuel Bust
Williamson is playing out of his mind lately. A number of big performances including a 34-point game against the Bucks have his salary at the highest we have ever seen. In general I don’t mind where he is priced, but this isn’t the matchup to pay for Williamson with his salary on the rise. The Jazz are as tough as a matchup can get for both DFS and real-life basketball. Williamson is still picking up double-digit ownership on FanDuel, and I’ll wait until he plays a weaker defense to roster him again.
