DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust Projections | April 1

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Kyrie Irving vs. Hornets: $9,800 DraftKings/$10,000 FanDuel

41% DraftKings Boom/48.4% FanDuel Boom

The Nets are likely in a bit of a panic right now. James Harden left last night’s game with a hamstring injury and will not play tonight. Kevin Durant remains out because of a hamstring issue of his own and hasn’t played since early February. The fear here is that the Nets could start slipping in the standings if the injury Harden suffered ends up similar to Durant’s. As is, their core three players have barely gotten any reps together. In the meantime, Irving is going to have to do everything for the Nets. With the other two All-Stars out, Irving is in line for all the usage he can handle.

Eric Bledsoe vs. Magic: $5,100 DraftKings/$5,500 FanDuel

54.7% DraftKings Boom/49.9% FanDuel Boom

I wrote up Brandon Ingram in this spot at first, which I had to revise because of the Pelicans’ injury report. Zion Williamson was unlikely to play tonight because of a thumb injury, and that had me thinking Ingram was one of the top plays on the slate. Everything changed when Ingram was downgraded to doubtful with Lonzo Ball also ruled out again. This opens up a massive amount of value on the Pelicans. Everybody is cheap and no amount of Pelicans’ is too many to play tonight. Bledsoe, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Josh Hart and Kira Lewis are all extremely high-priority plays. Every lineup should include multiple players from New Orleans.

Isaiah Hartenstein vs. 76ers: $3,700 DraftKings/$4,000 FanDuel

37.5% DraftKings Boom/42.5% FanDuel Boom

Cleveland is thin in the frontcourt tonight. Jarrett Allen and Larry Nance Jr. are both out, and even though Kevin Love might play, he probably will not see many minutes if active. Love has played in just three games all season due to lingering calf issues and wasn’t even able to play a full minute before leaving a game early three weeks ago. He hasn’t played since, and the most likely scenario is that he either sits or plays around 10 minutes. With this in mind, Hartenstein is going to play most of the center minutes. This is what he did last game, and he played well in the role. Hartenstein logged 26 minutes and scored 35 DraftKings points. If not for early foul trouble, he would have played more minutes.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

Terry Rozier vs. Nets: $8,000 DraftKings/$7,500 FanDuel

69.7% DraftKings Bust/51.9% FanDuel Bust

With so much value opening up as players are getting ruled out left and right, this is setting up as a stars-and-scrubs slate. This is going to mean avoiding players priced in the upper mid-range like Rozier. He has a favorable matchup against the Nets, but this is as expensive as he has been all season, and there is reason to think his production will dip from last game. Rozier benefited from Malik Monk not playing, and Monk is listed as probable on the injury report. His return will take away some usage from key players on Charlotte.
