Expert NBA Fantasy Rankings & DFS Value Plays Today for DraftKings & FanDuel | 2/8/22

This Tuesday night NBA slate is wild. News is coming out like crazy creating so much value. Be sure to check the Awesemo NBA Starting Linups page to see who is in and out tonight. That page is so important right now with the trade deadline and players already getting dealt this morning, which changes the entire slate. This article is driven by Awesemo’s NBA DFS Rankings. These are four of the best plays on the slate. Let’s dive in!

DraftKings & FanDuel NBA Fantasy Rankings Today

*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. The initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.

PG Anfernee Simons — Grades: A, B | Values: A, A

The Trail Blazers just dealt CJ McCollum and have already traded away Norman Powell and Robert Covington. This opens the door wide open for Anfernee Simons to get as much usage and minutes that he can handle. He is also playing without Damian Lillard. Simons has over doubled his scoring production from last season, as he is averaging a career-high 15.3 points per game. He has scored 19 or more points in 12 of his last 15 games. Simons leads the way in our NBA DFS Rankings as the best option. He also has the highest boom percentage on FanDuel and second-highest on DraftKings according to our boom/bust probability tool. Simons is the best play on the slate tonight.

Not only is Simons popping everywhere, but so is the rest of the Trail Blazers’ value options. These Trail Blazers players are everywhere on our ownership projections, making them impossible to ignore. This matchup against the Magic is the closest spread on the slate as it is essentially a pick-em. The Magic rank 23rd in defensive rating as they continue to have the worst record in the league at 12-43. Get as many Trail Blazers into your lineup as possible tonight.

PF Alperen Sengun — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A

With their season looking lost, the Rockets have finally decided to ramp up the playing time for Alperen Sengun. He has played 25 or more minutes in each of the past three games. Sengun even drew the start last game against this same Pelicans team, replacing Eric Gordon, who was out due to injury. Gordon is questionable to play tonight so monitor the starting lineups page leading up to lock, as Sengun could draw another start. Over the last three games, Sengun is averaging 10.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 26.7 DraftKings points per game in his larger role.

The Pelicans rank 20th in defensive rating this season and just traded away Josh Hart who has been a solid defender for them. This matchup features a 227 game total, which is just the fourth-largest on the slate. The Pelicans won this meeting 120-107 two days ago. With the increased playing time, Awesemo projects Sengun to be the best non-Pelicans value play on DraftKings where he is projected to play 28 minutes tonight. Sengun’s cheap salary on DraftKings has him coming in with the fifth-highest boom percentage according to our boom/bust probability tool.

Latest NBA DFS Content

SF Brandon Ingram — Grades: A, A | Values: B, A

Though the price tag has gone up on DraftKings, Brandon Ingram is still egregiously priced on FanDuel. Awesemo projects Ingram to be the best value pay-up option above $7,000 on DraftKings and above $6,500 on FanDuel tonight. Playing without Josh Hart has allowed Ingram to reach an even higher ceiling. In the 10 games without Hart in the lineup this season, Ingram is averaging 26.7 points while attempting 20.1 field goals per game. He has also played over two more minutes per game without Hart. Ingram is an incredible option on both sites tonight.

This sounds like a broken record at this point, but the Rockets absolutely stink on defense. They rank last in defensive rating and first in pace this season. They allow a league-high 117 points per game which is not even close to the second-worst team. Opponents obliterate them on the defensive end. Ingram should absolutely feast in this matchup, given how well he is playing recently. Over his last three games, he is averaging 27.3 points and 52.4 DraftKings points per game. Ingram has back-to-back games with 12 assists.

SG Patty Mills — Grades: C, D | Values: E, D

The Trail Blazers, Rockets, Pelicans and Nets are going to be the four teams that are staples in all lineups tonight. The Nets will be without Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Nicolas Claxton, LaMarcus Aldridge, Joe Harris, and Paul Millsap. The Nets are heavy home underdogs against the Celtics, which makes this spot a little tough to target multiple players. Picking just one option from the Nets is tough to do, but Patty Mills stands out the most. Without Harden, Durant and Irving on the floor this season, Mills has increased his usage rate by a team-high 11 percent. His NBA DFS Rankings look low right now, but once they are updated he should pop as a great value on this slate.

The Celtics are 8.5-point favorites on the road and unlike the Nets, they are fully healthy. They have also won five straight games, while the Nets have lost eight and are staring down nine losses in a row. The Celtics are a very good defensive team. They allow the least assists in the league and the fourth-fewest points at 104 per game. They also rank third in defensive rating and play at the seventh-slowest pace. The Nets are only implied for 102.25 points tonight, which is the second-lowest on the slate. It is smart to stick with just one Nets player tonight.
