James Harden Under 18.5 Field Goal Attempts
Harden is coming off a huge game, but with Joel Embiid returning for the 76ers, it’s unlikely he’ll be taking as many shots as he has in previous games. Even if he gets a slight boost for the playoffs, it is tough to imagine he’ll take 18.5 shots with Embiid back. During the regular season, Harden averaged 14.5 field goal attempts in 37 minutes per game, and Stokastic’s PrizePicks NBA Player Projections Tool believes that’s a more realistic number for him in this game. All in all, this line is too aggressive, and it should come down as the day goes on. Play fewer than 18.5 field goal attempts for Harden, which should be closer to 17.5 or even 17.0.
Malcolm Brogdon Under 12.5 Field Goal Attempts
Brogdon is another player whose field goal attempt line is set too high. During the regular season, Brogdon averaged 10.9 field goal attempts in 26 minutes per game, and it’s unlikely that he’ll take more than 12.5 shots in Game 2. While he did get big minutes in Game 1, that does not necessarily have to happen again here. The return of Marcus Smart may also impact Brogdon’s shooting volume, as Smart is a strong defender who will get important minutes down the stretch.
