Although Leonard Fournette came into the season as the clear RB1 for the Buccaneers, rookie Rachaad White has been stealing his thunder as the year has progressed. Ahead of the Buccaneers’ Week 15 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, let’s take a look at the Rachaad White-Leonard Fournette DFS and fantasy football rankings.
Rachaad White-Leonard Fournette DFS & Fantasy Ranking
Stokastic’s expert DFS projections list Leonard Fournette ($5,500) as the slightly more valuable play than Rachaad White ($5,400), with a value rating of 2.02 compared to 1.98.
With Stokastic’s weekly fantasy football rankings, Fournette ranks No. 29 on the running back board, while White is No. 32. Stokastic’s free player compare tool projects Fournette for 11.17 fantasy points and White for 10.80.
In 12 games this season, Fournette has seen a stark drop-off from his 2021-22 production. He currently has just 524 yards and three touchdowns, rushing for 3.5 yards per carry. This comes after he averaged 4.5 yards per attempt last season. With Fournette coming out of the Week 10 win over the Seattle Seahawks due to an injury, White gave Buccaneers fans a glimpse of the future, running for 105 yards. He also put up solid numbers in the team’s loss to the Browns the following week.
“I think it was excellent to see him go out there and play an extended amount of snaps,” Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich said, via the Tampa Bay Times. “I don’t know if he was ready for that many earlier. We saw the gifts that he had early but … we’re here with him every day, so we knew we had to get him to the point he could handle that type of load. He’s there now.”
Still, it’s Fournette who has more value thanks to his pass-catching ability. He remains one of Tom Brady’s most reliable targets, with 55 catches for 380 yards. White has 40 catches for 242 yards.
While both White and Fournette will continue to take limit the fantasy value of each other thanks to the platoon situation, it’s probably still the safer play to go with the veteran Fournette. Although, it’s unlikely either will be putting up massive stat lines in Week 15.
