Watford (+800) vs. Chelsea (-300), O/U 2.5
West Ham (-105) vs. Brighton (+270), O/U 2.5
Wolverhampton (-115) vs. Burnley (+310), O/U 2.5
Southampton (+130) vs. Leicester City (+190), O/U 2.5
Everton (+625) vs. Liverpool (-250), O/U 3.5
Aston Villa (+825) vs. Manchester City (-275), O/U 2.5
Diogo Jota (DraftKings: $9,300, FanDuel: $20)
Mohamed Salah (DraftKings: $10,500, FanDuel: $22)
Liverpool is the third-highest favorites (-245 BetMGM) on a large six-game slate. The other two favorites, Chelsea and Manchester City, have road matches like Liverpool. The Derby against Everton is always intense and will be the first meeting with Virgil Van Dijk back against the goalkeeper that injured him a season ago. Everton has been on a downtrend, failing to score in three consecutive matches. They play host to the most in-form club in the EPL, with 2.88 expected goals on the road and 3.5 actual goals per match. The attack is led by Mohamed Salah, who is atop the EPL in goals and shots per match. He gets a plus matchup against an Everton club that allows 1.33 expected goals per match. Salah brings brace upside and at least a goal in seven of his last 10 matches.
The striker in the middle of the attack is Diogo Jota. His salary has risen, and he will need to find the back of the net to pay it off. He averages 3.33 shots per match and is tied with Sadio Mane in goals with seven, just behind Salah on the club scoresheet. Mane has a significant discount on the price from Jota and Salah, making him the popular pairing with one or the other. Salah is an all-format option, with the shot volume and PK sets. Mane and Jota come in as GPP options, due to the high prices and scoring options on a large slate.
Jarrod Bowen (DraftKings: $7,900, FanDuel: $17)
Michail Antonio (DraftKings: $6,800, FanDuel: $20)
West Ham United have a tough matchup against Brighton. Brighton has the second-best road defense in the EPL, allowing 0.98 expected goals per match. In their previous three matches, both clubs found the back of the net. West Ham produce just 1.45 expected goals per match at home but are fourth in the EPL in goals with two per match. The notable home performance saw West Ham post three goals against Liverpool. The set-piece man is Jarrod Bowen. He handles the indirect set shares on his half of the pitch and contributes on 27.2% of the host’s scoring. His floor is built on 4.57 crosses and 3.79 scoring chances created. The upside is in his shot volume, which stands third on the club, at 2.59 per match.
The goal hunter up front for West Ham is Michail Antonio. He leads the club in goals and shot volume, at 3.19 per match. Antonio comes in with a salary that is too low on DraftKings for his goal upside. He is a top forward option in all formats for the goal contribution, 40% of West Ham’s scoring and salary relief to spend up for Liverpool, Chelsea or Manchester City. On FanDuel, given the $20 price and difficult matchup, consider pivoting off him to Romelu Lukaku or drop down to a lower-priced Manchester City forward.
James Ward-Prowse (DraftKings: $7,000, FanDuel: $18)
Che Adams (DraftKings: $5,300, FanDuel: $17)
Southampton has had a surprising first half of the EPL campaign. They are coming off a beatdown to a superior Manchester City club. They now see a home match against Leicester City. Leicester allows 1.55 expected goals per match on the road. Southampton struggle to find goals, but the matchup is better than the salary would suggest. Leicester has conceded a road goal in five consecutive matches across all competitions. Che Adams is a GPP option at the forward spot. He has contributed on 30% of his club’s scoring. That number is not as impressive considering just 10 total goals scored by the Saints. Adams is the lowest-priced forward on a team that spreads the scoring and is worth GPP fliers considering the lack of defense Leicester is showing in recent form.
The set-piece man is James Ward-Prowse. He is a play in all formats at his salary with DFS output on both defense and offense. He averages 7.94 crosses and 2.61 scoring chances per match. On defense he averages 3.17 won tackles/interceptions and 1.31 drawn fouls. Leicester is tied for second in the EPL in penalties allowed, which would put Ward-Prowse at the line.
Leicester has plenty of firepower on offense. Jamie Vardy is an option for goal hunting, as he is second behind Salah in the EPL goal scoring list. On sets James Maddison has seen his price climb up. He provides a floor with seven crosses in his previous two full-game runs. This number should continue to rise without Youri Tielemans in the starting 11. Maddison has also increased his shot volume, with over 2.5 per match in full game runs. He is a cash play with the floor and a GPP pairing with Vardy.
Other Options: Jorginho (DraftKings $5,500, FanDuel $12), Christian Pulisic (DraftKings $7,100, FanDuel $18), Riyad Mahrez (DraftKings $8,500, FanDuel $17), Raheem Sterling (DraftKings $7,600, FanDuel $17), John McGinn (DraftKings $5,700, FanDuel $15), Raul Jimenez (DraftKings $7,500, FanDuel $19), Chris Wood (DraftKings $5,000, FanDuel $16)
Rayen Ait-Nouri (DraftKings: $6,200, FanDuel: $12)
Trent Alexander-Arnold (DraftKings: $8,000, FanDuel: $15)
Rayen Ait-Nouri continues to produce on offense for Wolverhampton. He averages over five crosses per match, with upside of double-digit volume. He handles the indirect set shares on his half of the pitch and adds to his metrics with 2.5 won tackles/interceptions. His lack of direct attempts at the net makes him a specific option on DraftKings. On FanDuel, Reece James is a superior choice for a $3 pay up.
The cash play comes with a high price in Trent Alexander-Arnold. James comes with a higher salary, but Alexander-Arnold is the preferred choice. Liverpool has the better matchup. Joao Cancelo also has a high price. Alexander-Arnold averages 8.27 crosses per match and 5.09 shots and assisted shots per match. His on-target accuracy of 30% and scoring chances created of 3.27 make him a play in all formats across both sites.
Other Options: Valentino Livramento (DraftKings $4,800, FanDuel $12), Ben Johnson (DraftKings $4,200, FanDuel $13), Marc Cucurella (DraftKings $4,700, FanDuel $10), Matthew Lowton (DraftKings $4,000, FanDuel $13)
Alisson (DraftKings: $5,700, FanDuel: $13)
Jose Sa (DraftKings: $5,300, FanDuel: $12)
Emiliano Martinez (DraftKings: $3,700, FanDuel: $7)
