KBO DFS Picks: Spotlight Pitchers
Adrian Sampson
It’s a two horse race for top option tonight, but there’s not really a right answer. This is very much a coinflip. Sampson’s sample in 2020 is small, but Steamer projected him for 19% strikeout rate and 4.99 FIP if he were to play in the MLB this season. You would expect both of those numbers to improve slightly in the transition to the KBO. Sampson has the third best odds to win tonight, but he also has the lowest game total on the slate. Forced to choose Sampson is my…#2.
Casey Kelly
Kelly gets the lean based on his experience in the KBO. He’s thrown roughly 200 innings of 3.45 FIP ball for the LG Twins. He’s pushed his strikeout rate over 20% this season. Plus, there’s a cherry on this sundae. Kelly and the Twins are -278 favorites, easily the biggest on the slate. Kelly and Sampson were the only two pitchers to hit my ownership caps. In that way, they’re equals. I have to take Kelly first in all formats.
