Tonight’s Top Monkey Knife Fight MLB Player Prop PicksÂ
Pirates vs. Cardinals ‘Hit Parade’ Contest (2x Buy-In or More)
In this contest, the goal is to pick three players (with at least one from each team) to exceed a chose number of total hits. The user can decide just how bullish they are feeling about their MLB picks by opting to choose a higher goal. Of course, the higher the goal, the higher the payout. This article will stick with the lowest goal of 4.5 total hits for the chance to double investment. When it comes to player selections, it’s hard not to include Cardinals infielders Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado.Â
Goldschmidt has been swinging the bat well recently, with at least one hit in seven of his last nine games. Three of those games saw him record multiple hits. He has also recorded a pair of hits in six prior at-bats against Pittsburgh starter Chad Kuhl. Meanwhile, Arenado appears to be breaking out of a bit of a hitting slump. He has now recorded at least one hit in three of his last four games, with two of them clearing the outfield fence. Even after a stretch of hitless outings, Arenado’s season-long batting average remains a respectable .267. He has 74 total hits on the season and also has a pair against Kuhl in five prior at-bats.
Speaking of strong matchup history, that is precisely the reason for including Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco among Monkey Knife Fight MLB picks. In 32 prior at-bats against Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez, Polanco is batting .438. Since returning from a brief IL stint, Martinez has struggled. Polanco hasn’t had a great 2021 at the plate, but he very well could record multiple hits this evening.

Cubs vs. Dodgers ‘Rapidfire’ Contest (3x Buy-In)
With a little help from the handy Awesemo MLB DFS projections, gamers can look to find an advantage in this Monkey Knife Fight contest of player matchups. The first head-to-head pits Mookie Betts against Joc Pederson. It is important to remember that batters do not lose a point for strikeouts in Monkey Knife Fight MLB fantasy scoring. While this would favor Pederson, who is known for being prone to the strikeout, the gap between him and Betts in the Awesemo projections is a whole 3 points. It makes sense given that Betts has been the more consistent of the two in recent games. Furthermore, Betts has three hits in nine prior at-bats against Chicago starter Zach Davies, so lay the half point.
In the second matchup to round out this contest, Max Muncy is laying 0.5 fantasy points against his Dodgers teammate, Cody Bellinger. Oddly enough, the history of the two batters against Davies would suggest Bellinger should be favored. He has two home runs among his six hits in 16 at-bats against Davies. While Muncy’s numbers aren’t bad (three hits in 10 at-bats), they aren’t quite as good. For MLB fantasy picks, home runs matter. Bellinger has a decisive advantage in that category. The Awesemo MLB DFS projections agree with this historical data. Bellinger is projected for roughly 0.8 more fantasy points and is also among the top value plays for Thursday.
