With no college football slate for the first time in a while, the NBA has a nice seven-game slate on Saturday night. There are plenty of good plays across the board, so let’s dive into the player pool to discuss the top NBA DFS core building blocks today for both DraftKings and FanDuel. Be sure to check out the Stokastic NBA DFS & Fantasy Basketball home page, where you can find fantasy basketball picks and analysis for each slate of games.
NBA DFS Building Blocks Today: Saturday, December 10
Core Play of the Day — John Wall: Los Angeles Clippers-Washington Wizards
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 33.07 | FanDuel: 32.10
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings: 26.10% | FanDuel: 35.30%
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $5,900 | FanDuel: $5,900
With John Wall making his long-anticipated return to Washington, it should come as no surprise that he is going to be a core building block. He spent 10 years with the Wizards, and tonight is his first game back since leaving in 2020. Meanwhile, the Wizards rank towards the bottom of the NBA against opposing point guards. Plus, Reggie Jackson is out, so Wall should have the ball in his hands a ton. He is one of the top overall plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel, and his upside at $5,900 is massive in this spot.
Core Play of the Day — Deni Avdija: Washington Wizards-Indiana Pacers
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 28.61 | FanDuel: 28.61
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings: 39.90% | FanDuel: 26.90%
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $4,700 | FanDuel: $5,500
While Wall might be the best overall play on the slate, Deni Avdija looks like the top mid-range play on both DraftKings and FanDuel. One of the highest-owned players on last night’s slate, Avdija is somehow $100 cheaper on DraftKings tonight and he’s still too cheap for his role when Bradley Beal is out — $4,700 on DraftKings and $5,500 on FanDuel. After playing 39 and 40 minutes the past two games with Beal on the sidelines, Avdija finds himself in another really good spot against a Clippers team that ranks 27th in the NBA against opposing small forwards. He is certainly more solid than spectacular, but he’s playing huge minutes right now.

Additional NBA DFS Building Blocks Picks Today – Sports Wagering Opportunities
Anfernee Simons has a 2.5 over/under line on his rebounds prop for his matchup against the Timberwolves. Stokastic’s NBA DFS projections have him for 3.10 rebounds and a 62% likelihood that he reaches this threshold. These types of wagers with a high likelihood of success but a lower payout upside are best used as a leg in a straight or same-game parlay.

Minnesota Timberwolves-Portland Trail Blazers
In a true late-night-hammer spot in the last game of the night, Portland starts and ends with Damian Lillard. Despite losing to the Nuggets on Jamal Murray buzzer-beater on Thursday, Lillard put up 40 points, four rebounds, 12 assists and two steals en route to 72.5 DraftKings points. Jusuf Nurkic is also playing well right now, as he is averaging 40.43 DraftKings points over the past three games. Jerami Grant and Josh Hart have appealing price tags on DraftKings, making them interesting options as well.
For Minnesota, Karl-Anthony Towns and Taurean Prince remain out, but beyond that they come in relatively healthy. With Towns out, however, the Timberwolves are still wildly in play on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Despite an expensive $9,200 on DraftKings, Anthony Edwards stands out as Minnesota’s top option, and he’s an elite spend up in all formats.
