Basketball returns with a solid seven-game slate for Yahoo fantasy basketball today. After this long of a break, there is not a ton of injury news to watch, which is really rare for NBA purposes. Darius Garland and Caris LeVert have already been ruled out in Cleveland, where some value could be had at guard today. There are big game totals with Chicago vs. Atlanta at 240.5 over/under and Minnesota vs. Memphis at 239.5 over/under to chase today, too.

Guard — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander $37

The Thunder get a big piece of their team back today in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The point guard had scored 29 or more points in three straight games before getting injured but should be full throttle today. Normally a match-up with the Suns would be a bad idea to target for the point guard on the other side, but Chris Paul is out today and that should really open things up for Gilgeous-Alexander. The Point Projections on Awesemo at point guard are tight with the top-four players all projecting within five points of each other. Gilgeous-Alexander has the cheapest price of said foursome and rates out with the best value score too, making him a prime target to begin lineups with.

Guard — Devin Booker $38

It certainly feels like a night to just pay up for quality at shooting guard. No one really stands out as a super-reliable value and there is a clear gap at the top between Devin Booker, who is ranked first in the Awesemo Projections, and the rest of the top-five. Booker will likely be seeing increased usage in the short-term with Paul out and the match-up today will likely only help facilitate a big fantasy game as the Thunder remain a solid opponent and Phoenix comes in as solid -10.5 favorites. At a position where a lot of people will be guessing for value options, paying up for Booker in this higher usage spot seems like a smart play.

Forward — Josh Hart $26

As usual, forward leaves you better options to go value hunting. While there are a few better games to target just from a totals standpoint, go for the sub-$30 price tag available on Josh Hart, who is taking on the Golden State Warriors today. Hart is absolutely locked into a 35+ minute role for the Trail Blazers, who remain super short-handed. The former Laker has gotten there numerous ways this year, posting double-doubles in three of his last 10-games and going for over 20 real-life points in each of his last three games as well. Hart rates out as a top-three play at small forward today, yet comes in $15 cheaper in the Yahoo daily fantasy basketball offerings than the top option at his position.

Forward — Evan Mobley $30

Like Hart, target Evan Mobley for the simple fact that his minutes rarely, if ever, waver. Mobley has recorded double-doubles in three of his last 10 games as well and is coming off one of his best fantasy games of the year in his last outing, going for 53.0 Yahoo points against Atlanta. Cleveland has another A+ today against Detroit and with LeVert out, you should see Mobley’s usage stay strong in this spot. He rates out as a very strong second at his position in the Awesemo Projections.

Center — Robert Williams $28

There is certainly a drop-off when you go past the top three or four center options today, but siding with value in the likes of Robert Williams is not a poor idea on this slate. Williams ranks out with the fifth-best Projection in the Awesemo Model for center and looks rested and ready for full action (calf) by all reports. He has had double-doubles in five of his last six outings and has a great match-up to add to that total in Brooklyn, who rank in the bottom half of the league in rebounds allowed and sixth-last in offensive rebounds allowed. Williams should be in for big minutes with lots of put-back opportunities likely headed his way against a weak glass team in Brooklyn.

Yahoo NBA DFS Value Play — Rajon Rondo $14

The Cavaliers’ injury situation was mentioned a couple of times in this article and there is little doubt that the most straightforward way you can take advantage of it is by using Rajon Rondo, who should push for 30+ minutes today against a weak Detroit team. Rondo will obviously be filling the void as the team’s main facilitator and has been lights out for fantasy purposes when thrust into a more major role of late, going for over 40.0 Yahoo points against Indiana twice before the break. Rondo has the highest point projection on Awesemo of any point guard under $15 today and should be firmly on your list of values today for NBA DFS, if not there already.
