It is the point of the year where there is a dramatic shift to NBA DFS since there is not a single NFL game. Everyone knows the big two in the NBA daily fantasy world, but there are plenty of money-making opportunities on other sites like Yahoo Fantasy. Today’s seven-game NBA DFS slate is shaping up to be a good one. With less competition over on Yahoo, there is the opportunity to take down these tournaments a bit easier. Yahoo NBA DFS Picks & Value Plays Today | 2/1/2022
C, Nikola Vucevic, Orlando Magic | $36
As is the case whenever the Nuggets play, Nikola Jokic is not only the top overall center but the top overall player on the slate. However, he is priced accordingly, as Jokic has a $57 salary. Instead of paying up there, switching to Nikola Vucevic offers a $19 savings.
Tonight the Bulls face the Magic, meaning Vucevic will be returning to the arena where he played the majority of his career to this point. He has returned to Orlando twice since being traded, and the performances have only been OK. However, Vucevic is coming into tonight with momentum. He is averaging 19.5 points, 12.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists over the past six games. Playing as the fourth-highest-priced center, his recent play is plenty good as this price tag.
SG, Malik Beasley, Minnesota Timberwolves | $10
In another revenge game tonight, Malik Beasley will be facing off against the Nuggets. Unlike Vucevic, Beasley has played with extra motivation when he has faced his former team with Minnesota. In three starts with the Timberwolves against the Nuggets, Beasley has averaged 19 points, seven rebounds and 3.3 assists. He started last game due to D’Angelo Russell being out. Russell is also expected to miss the game tonight, putting Beasley in line to start. He is also priced at the minimum. As a result, Awesemo’s projections list Beasley as the second-best value play on Yahoo tonight.

PG, Chris Paul, Phoenix Suns | $40
In the final game of the night the red-hot Suns will host the Brooklyn Nets, which means Kyrie Irving will be active. This matchup should bring the best out of Chris Paul, though it seems like he has already been playing his best. Over the past 10 days and five games, Paul has averaged 21.4 points, 13.4 assists, 6.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals. With Cameron Payne out, Paul has been playing as many minutes as he can handle. The result is him playing at least 40 minutes in three of the past five games. With tonight being a measuring stick game against another contender, look for Paul to have a large role once again.
C, JaVale McGee, Phoenix Suns | $14
Sticking in that same game, targeting a salary saver helps pay up for another stud tonight. Deandre Ayton continues to be out of the lineup, and JaVale McGee returned to the lineup last game. When he was out Bismack Biyombo took the majority of the minutes. As a result, he actually has a higher NBA DFS salary on Yahoo than McGee.
Last game McGee actually came off the bench to play 14 minutes. This allowed him to have more usage on the second unit against other backups. This will create a nice mismatch against Brooklyn, if the Suns decide to keep the starting lineup the same once again. However, Awesemo’s projections still expect more playing time out of McGee in his second game back, projecting him to play 20.1 minutes. Look for McGee to have a nice game against a Nets team against whom McGee had a double-double in only 16 minutes earlier this season.
