NBA Fantasy: Boom Bust Tool Projections for DraftKings + FanDuel Lineups | Today 10/28

On tap for Thursday night is a six-game slate. With teams in action, NBA fantasy lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel will be flush with high-level talent and value plays. The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will provide breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

NBA Fantasy Projections & Optimal Lineup Picks Tonight

Boom: Montrezl Harrell: $5,300 DraftKings/$5,600 FanDuel

84% DraftKings Boom/78.1% FanDuel Boom

Daniel Gafford (quad) will be inactive tonight, creating a direct path for Harrell to see big minutes as the Wizards’ primary center. With Gafford only available for seven minutes Wednesday, Harrell saw a season-high 38 minutes and finished with a 25-point, 11-rebound double-double worth 45.25 DraftKings points. Over the last two seasons Harrell has been a strong fantasy asset, scoring 1.1 DraftKings points per minute. Competing in the second-highest total on the slate (222.5 points), Awesemo’s projections have Harrell slated for 37.7 minutes. Since the start of last season, Harrell is averaging 36 DraftKings points per game when he has cracked the 30-minute mark. He is the top overall value and has the highest boom rating for both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight, making him a core play for all formats.

Boom: Stephen Curry: $10,900 DraftKings/$10,400 FanDuel

38.7% DraftKings Boom/29.9% FanDuel Boom

After finishing with a season-low 38.5 DraftKings points Tuesday, Curry should bounce back in a huge way tonight against the Grizzlies. Ranking dead last in efficiency, Memphis has been the worst defense in the NBA this season. In this spot the Warriors have the highest implied team total on the slate (117.5 points), and this game’s total is also the largest of the night (229 points). Curry’s usage has been incredible this season (32.7%), and he also leads the Warriors with a 27.2% assist rate, resulting in 1.5 DraftKings points per minute. Additionally, he is taking a league-high 11.3 3-pointers a game and knocking them down at a 40% clip. The Grizzlies are allowing the second-highest 3-point percentage in the league, and Curry’s props on BetMGM are set at 33.5 points and 5.5 made 3’s.

In his lone matchup with Memphis last season, Curry went for 73.25 DraftKings points, which is the type of ceiling he brings tonight. For both DraftKings and FanDuel, Curry has a top-five boom rating on the slate according to Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool.

Boom: Jaren Jackson Jr.: $6,500 DraftKings/$6,700 FanDuel

34.7% DraftKings Boom/25.2% FanDuel Boom

Jackson is another great way to gain exposure to this optimal setting against the Warriors. On top of this game’s slate-high total, Golden State is only favored by 6 points, and the Grizzlies have an implied team total of 111.5 points. Prior to last night’s 20-point blowout to the Blazers, Jackson had seen 30 minutes per game this season, helping him score 31 DraftKings points per game. He has averaged 1.1 DraftKings points per minute over the last two seasons, and Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool is giving Jackson a ceiling of 41.3 DraftKings points. With a lack of compelling options at power forward on DraftKings tonight, taking a chance on Jackson in this potential shootout is a sharp move.

Bust: Julius Randle: $9,500 DraftKings/$9,900 FanDuel

49.6% DraftKings Bust/69.7% FanDuel Bust

Randle’s high price tags are hard to justify tonight against the Bulls. With many new faces in town, Chicago has been stout on the defensive end, ranking second in efficiency. They also rank 23rd in pace, and the Knicks’ implied team total is the fourth lowest of the 12 teams in action Thursday night (107.25 points). Furthermore, the Knicks are the visitor in this matchup, and since Randle joined New York his production has been 3.3 DraftKings points worse on the road. At season-high price points on both sites, Randle is rating as a poor value in Awesemo’s projections.
