Jordan Clarkson vs. Grizzlies: $5,500 DraftKings/$5,000 FanDuel

44.4% DraftKings Boom/56.1% FanDuel Boom

The Jazz ruled Donovan Mitchell out ahead of tonight’s game due to personal reasons. The news didn’t come out until last night, so the pricing algorithms weren’t able to get out ahead of this news. Mitchell has only missed two games this season, but at least it gives a decent expectation for what the rotation could look like. Joe Ingles started earlier in the season without Mitchell, although Clarkson ended up playing more minutes. Against the Mavericks in January when Mitchell was out, Ingles played 27 minutes while Clarkson soaked up 30. Clarkson has the highest boom score on both FanDuel and DraftKings tonight.

Mike Conley vs. Grizzlies: $5,800 DraftKings/$6,000 FanDuel

43.5% DraftKings Boom/42.9% FanDuel Boom

Conley doesn’t have quite the boom score that Clarkson has for the Jazz without Mitchell, but he comes close. When Mitchell is off the court, Conley takes on a slightly larger role with a 23.2% usage rate although this isn’t what draws me to Conley. The absence of Mitchell should mean Conley is forced to play more minutes. He played 32 minutes the last time that Mitchell was out, and Utah hasn’t played Conley more than 30 minutes in almost two weeks. The playing-time bump combined with the slight uptick in role on offense is what makes Conley an appealing play against his former team.

Kyle Lowry vs. Thunder: $7,200 DraftKings/$6,300 FanDuel

Things are not going great for the Raptors. This is a team stuck between tanking and pushing to make the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. They made a surprising move by not trading Lowry at the trade deadline, and even though the team’s outlook isn’t great, Lowry is not the type to quit. He is going to play hard and soak up as many minutes as he can handle until the season is over. As bleak as everything seems with Toronto, this team is only two games out of the 10th seed. Lowry should also get a slight boost moving forward because of the Norman Powell trade. When Powell is off the court, Lowry’s usage increases by 1.3%, which should lead to a bit more production over the final couple months of the season.

Edit: Lowry has been ruled out tonight.

Montrezl Harrell vs. Knicks: $7,200 DraftKings/$7,400 FanDuel

99.7% DraftKings Bust/98.9% FanDuel Bust

Andre Drummond is not worth much as an NBA asset and he’s not going to make a massive impact for the Lakers. With that said, he is going to make a big impact for DFS purposes. Drummond is one of the better per-minute fantasy producers in the NBA, and he is going to shake up the Lakers’ rotation. He’s expected to start at center today, which is going to take away minute from both Harrell and Marc Gasol. In addition, this could hurt Kyle Kuzma‘s production. The inclusion of Drummond on the roster is going to make all the other players on the Lakers fades in the short term.
