Best NFL DFS Stacks for Week 3 on DraftKings & FanDuel

Stacking in daily fantasy football refers to pairing a quarterback with one or more of his pass catchers. Stokastic’s top NFL DFS top stacks tool can help users with updated stackability ratings for all teams on the DraftKings and FanDuel main slates each week.

As usual, we will add a Sunday update to this article that shows how the data has shifted. DFS players will want to make sure they are monitoring the NFL injury news through slate lock and before the afternoon games lock too, in case news comes in that opens up better values that you can late swap to.

There is also inclement weather to contend with in Week 3, and multiple games could be impacted. Make sure you are checking on the updated playing conditions as kickoff gets close and that you update lineups as necessary.

NFL DFS Week 3 Team Stackability Ratings on DraftKings & FanDuel

First things first: below is a short legend overviewing the data points that are included throughout, all of which can be found on Stokastic’s best NFL DFS stacks page for DraftKings and FanDuel.

Top Stack: The probability that the QB + receiver combo will be the highest scoring of the week (averaged the probabilities for top-scoring with one receiver and two receivers together).

QB Own: Projected ownership of starting quarterback for the given team.

Avg Sal: Average salary of skill position players weighted for ownership.

Top Value: Top stack % points per dollar of salary spent.

Rush %: How often the team is expected to rush on any given play during the game. A lower Rush % means the quarterback will be throwing more often!

Overall Rating: Stokastic’s rating of the quality of the stack, taking into consideration key variables like top stack probability, top value probability, and ownership.

Week 3 NFL DFS Team Stackability – Sunday Update #2

Mid-morning projections update:

On DraftKings, Minnesota is up to an overall rating of 45 and is clear of Miami, Kansas City and Dallas. Detroit and Los Angeles complete the top six.

On FanDuel, Kansas City is first in overall rating and is trailed by Minnesota, Baltimore, Miami, Dallas and Los Angeles in the top six.

Here is a full look at the leaders in the Week 3 DraftKings NFL DFS top stack data (as of 10:40 AM ET):

Projections will continue to be finetuned as more news comes out. Be sure to browse through all of the NFL DFS stacks data on DraftKings and FanDuel and the rest of Stokastic’s tools (like NFL Sims), videos and articles before lineups lock.

We will add to this space closer to lock. Check back soon for more updates.

Week 3 NFL DFS Team Stackability – Sunday Update #1

Our first Sunday morning update (9:15 AM ET):

There is a lot of weather concern for Week 3. The worst spot appears to be in the Jets/Patriots game and we will also need to look into the playing conditions for the Ravens/Colts, Commanders/Bills, Dolphins/Broncos and Seahawks/Panthers matchups when we get closer to kickoff.

Stokastic’s NFL projections have been updated and will keep being tweaked until the slate locks on DraftKings and FanDuel. On DK, the Vikings are still number one in top stack probability, top value probability and overall rating. They’re followed by the Dolphins, Chiefs, Lions and Chargers in the top five. Moving to FD, we find the Chiefs in the top spot and the Vikings, Ravens, Cowboys and Dolphins in the second through fifth positions in overall rating, a metric that blends top stack probability, top value probability and projected ownership.

We will continue to add to this space. Check back soon for more updates.

Week 3 NFL DFS Top Team Stack: Minnesota Vikings

Overviewing the top projected team stacks for the Week 3 main slate, we find the Vikings with the highest top stack probability on the slate for their encounter with the Chargers, at least on DraftKings. They also have the highest overall rating and top value probability on DK.

Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson are sticking out at their respective positions and will garner a lot of attention. The major factor DFS players will have to consider here is projected ownership, as the pair will be highly owned. Jefferson is projected to be the highest-owned player on the slate, while Cousins and T.J. Hockenson will get a lot of love too.

Jordan Addison (62% snap share, 13% target share) and K.J. Osborn (93% snap share, 14.1% target share) would be the primary lower-owned players to think about mixing in if you want to differentiate more.

Top Stack Probability on DraftKings: 19.0%
Top Stack Probability on FanDuel: 15.6%
Top Value Probability on DraftKings: 9.7%
Top Value Probability on FanDuel: 9.0%
Expected Rush Percentage: 32.6%

Week 3 NFL DFS Top Team Stack: Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have the highest implied team total on the slate at 30.5 points, so unsurprisingly they’re ranking highly in Stokastic’s team stackability ratings for Week 3 NFL DFS. Their top stack probability is at 10.7% on DraftKings, the third highest on the slate, and all the way up at 18.9% on FanDuel (highest overall).

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce did not hit their ceilings in Week 2 yet NFL DFS players will be all over the pair again in Week 3.

The Kansas City pass-catching situation is muddled outside of Kelce. Kadarius Toney ($4,600), Skyy Moore ($4,400 on DK) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($4,200) are all cheap and will carry minimal ownership, but they have all been highly unreliable to count on.

Top Stack Probability on DraftKings: 10.7%
Top Stack Probability on FanDuel: 18.9%
Top Value Probability on DraftKings: 7.4%
Top Value Probability on FanDuel: 11.1%
Expected Rush Percentage: 37.4%

Other Week 3 NFL DFS Team Stacks to Consider

While the stack and overall ratings are extremely useful in their own right, having additional data points like projected QB ownership, top value probabilities and expected rush percentages for every team included all on one page is pretty handy when doing prep.

Ahead of NFL Week 3, here are a couple of other team stacks to consider for your NFL DFS lineups:

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are waiting to see if Jaylen Waddle will be able to play against the visiting Broncos in Week 3. He is currently deemed questionable.

That’s going to be a critical piece of news to monitor as lock approaches, as Miami is lining up as one of the highest-rated team stacks for this slate. Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and Durham Smythe all have high boom probabilities for the time being, and the Dolphins own the second-highest top stack probability, top value probability and overall rating as of Saturday morning.

We will need to keep a close eye on the data to see how it adjusts if Waddle is indeed ruled out. We should have a lot more clarity on this situation come Sunday.

Top Stack Probability on DraftKings: 11.8%
Top Stack Probability on FanDuel:
6.9%
Top Value Probability on DraftKings:
7.0%
Top Value Probability on FanDuel: 6.0%
Expected Rush Percentage:
38.7%

Los Angeles Chargers

It is the Vikings side of this MIN/LAC game that is getting a majority of the hype, but we should not forget about Justin Herbert and the Chargers when creating different stacking combinations in Week 3.

The fourth-year quarterback was 27 of 41 for 305 yards and two touchdowns in Week 2’s loss to the Titans, with Keenan Allen the biggest beneficiary in the receiving group. Herbert is rating out strongly in Stokastic’s NFL player projections again in Week 3, and so is Allen, who has a 27.7% target share in 2023. Fellow wideout Mike Williams (23.9% target share) is another intriguing stacking partner at $6,000 on DraftKings and $7,200 on FanDuel.

Data-wise, Los Angeles is at an 8.5% top stack probability on DraftKings and 8.1% top stack probability on FanDuel. This game is going to be very popular in general, though there are a lot of ways to get different with roster construction to fight the expected high ownership.

Top Stack Probability on DraftKings: 8.5%
Top Stack Probability on FanDuel: 8.1%
Top Value Probability on DraftKings: 5.2%
Top Value Probability on FanDuel: 5.0%
Expected Rush Percentage:
44.8%
