The MLB DFS slate on Monday presents a good opportunity for daily fantasy players and had a split slate. Keeping a close eye on injuries and matchups that may result in high-scoring games is crucial. This article will provide an in-depth breakdown of each game and identify potential MLB DFS value picks.
MLB DFS Value and Advice | April 10
San Diego Padres vs. New York Mets
Two elite pitchers face off in a tough matchup for both offenses. Max Scherzer had a 30.6% strikeout percentage last season, which is the second highest on the slate, while Yu Darvish had a 25.6% strikeout percentage, which is the sixth highest. Neither offense is particularly appealing, but the Mets would be my first choice, as Darvish does have some home run issues.
Cincinnati Reds vs. Atlanta Braves
Graham Ashcraft throws hard and does a good job limiting power, but he does not get enough strikeouts to be worth the risk against a dangerous Braves lineup. Bryce Elder is a solid SP2 option on DraftKings. In 10 games last season, he struck out 20.7% of hitters and had a 4.16 xFIP. The Braves matchup is not great, but they are not projected for much ownership and they always have some of the best MLB DFS value of any lineup on a slate.
Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago Cubs
Luis Castillo is one of the best pitching options on the slate. He struck out 27.2% of the hitters that he faced last season while walking just 7.3%. Mariners stacks look good against Drew Smyly, who allowed 1.35 home runs per nine innings last season. He allowed a .175 xISO to righties, and the Mariners are likely to have eight right-handed hitters in their lineup.

Kansas City Royals vs. Texas Rangers
Zack Greinke deserves no interest. Andrew Heaney is a boom-or-bust pitching option. His 35.5% strikeout percentage last season is the highest on the slate by a wide margin, but he also allowed 1.73 home runs per nine innings. The Royals do not have a ton of power, but any of Bobby Witt, Salvador Perez and Franmil Reyes stand out as strong candidates to hit a home run. The Rangers are in a favorable spot against Greinke, who does not have much left in the tank at the back end of his career.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Colorado Rockies
Two solid pitchers facing off in Coors Field. The Cardinals are projected to be the highest-owned offense on the slate, and they also have the highest top stack percentage at 20.7%. The Rockies are third in top stack percentage and are projected for a little less than half of the Cardinals’ ownership.

Washington Nationals vs. Los Angeles Angels
Patrick Corbin is one of the worst pitchers on tonight’s slate. He allowed 1.59 home runs per nine innings last season, and righties posted a .235 xISO against him. The Angels lineup will likely have eight right-handed hitters, with the lone lefty being Shohei Ohtani, who hits lefties well. Jose Suarez is a decent SP2 in tournaments on DraftKings, as he is projected for less ownership than similarly priced pitchers like Elder and Zac Gallen.
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Wade Miley is a stay-away, but Gallen is projected to be the highest-owned pitcher on DraftKings at just $7,100. He struck out 26.9% of hitters last season and had a 3.31 xFIP. Miley is not a good strikeout pitcher but typically does a good job of limiting power. If looking to Arizona bats, Ketel Marte, Lourdes Gurriel and Christian Walker is the place to start.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants
This game has two good pitchers in difficult matchups. Logan Webb has the tougher matchup, but he is just $7,400 on DraftKings, so he is a reasonable SP2 pivot to Elder and Gallen at about a third of the ownership. Julio Urias is similar to Castillo and Scherzer in top-2 pitcher percentage, and he is slightly less expensive.
