OwnersBox DFS Quarterback Plays

Kirk Cousins, $6,800

The Minnesota Vikings host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday in one of the best game environments of the week. Both teams play fast and throw often, making the signal callers highly projected for Sunday NFL DFS on OwnersBox. Kirk Cousins isn’t the highest quarterback on the slate, but he is the best value at the position. He projects for 22.4 fantasy points on OwnersBox, which is quite the play at his $6,800 price tag. Cousins is coming in as the highest owned player right now. NFL DFS ownership projections peg him for 32.8% ownership. Cousins will be chalky and so will his receivers, so you’ll have to consider how you construct Vikings stack and where to get different in the rest of your lineup.

Patrick Mahomes, $7,800

The highest projected quarterback on OwnersBox this Sunday is Patrick Mahomes. He projects for 24.67 fantasy points, which even at his loft $7,800 salary makes him the second best value play at his position. The Chiefs haven’t looked great out of the gate this year, but they’ll host the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Chicago has been absolutely reeling and look like one of the worst teams in the league after entering the year with high hopes. The Chiefs have a nearly 30-point implied team total, so they’re expected to scoring over four touchdowns about 50% of the time. Given their pass rate, that’s good news for Mahomes. It’s tough to figure out how to stack Mahomes, since outside of Travis Kelce he spreads the ball around. However, that just means there are several low-price stacking options that have a chance. Mahomes and the Chiefs are a tricky stack, but nobody projects better on Sunday’s OwnersBox NFL DFS slate.

Tua Tagovailoa, $7,000

The Miami Dolphins have won two tough road battles to start the season. First they knocked out the Chargers in Los Angeles, putting up 36 points in the process. They went on to defeat the New England Patriots 24-17 last week in Foxboro. The Dolphins now get the Denver Broncos for their home opener in Week 3. There’s little doubt that the Dolphins have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, centered around Tyreek Hill and Tua Tagovailoa. That should continue against a week Denver offense this Sunday. Tua projects for 21.48, making him the third best value play on the board. He’s picking up 22.2% ownership, representing a significant ownership discount from Cousins and Mahomes. Tua isn’t the point-per-dollar play that those two are, and his pass catchers are expensive, but there’s still room to get to some of him in the SuperFlex this week.

React App

Trevor Lawrence, $6,600

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team on the rise. They made the playoffs for the first time in years last season, and they are looking to repeat again in 2023. They sputtered a bit last week against a tough Chiefs squad on the road, but they will look to bounce back in Week 3 against the Houston Texans. The Texans are one of the weaker teams in the NFL, but they also pass at a very high rate and play at a solid pace. That’s speeding up games and increasing the number of plays for their opponents. The game environment is boosting the projection of the Jags offensive, led of course, by Trevor Lawrence. The Jags’ quarterback is projecting for 20.04 fantasy points, which at his $6,600 salary makes him the fourth best value on OwnersBox NFL DFS this week. He’s grabbing 20.7% ownership, which is another discount off of the top plays at the position.

Dak Prescott, $6,400

Dak Prescott rounds out the top five value plays at the quarterback position on OwnersBox NFL DFS for Week 3. The Dallas Cowboys head out on the road to take on the Arizona Cardinals. Dallas has the second highest implied team total on the slate. If the Cardinals can push them enough and force them to throw, Prescott should have plenty of opportunities to hit his top targets. The Cardinals gave up 31-points in the second half last week to the New York Giants, who are proving to be one of the weaker teams in the league in the early going. Prescott is projected for 19.31 fantasy points and 17.6% ownership. He’s definitely someone to consider for NFL DFS on Sunday’s main slate.
