It’s always fun to get a first look at UFC DFS fighter prices when they’re released on DraftKings and FanDuel. However, this week’s early pricing backfired when turmoil started in the Sean Woodson–Steve Garcia fight. That original matchup was cancelled, with Woodson taking on the replacement, Jesse Butler, as a huge favorite. Now Butler is out too, with Mairon Santos taking his spot.
UFC DFS: Turmoil for Woodson, DraftKings PricingĀ
The problem is that DraftKings released UFC DFS pricing based on the Woodson-Butler odds, which made Woodson $9,600 and the highest fighter on the slate. That will likely make him one of the worst fighters now that he’s fighting Santos. It remains to be seen where the Woodson-Santos odds will fall, but BetOnline has opened the bidding with Woodson as just a -125 favorite. That’s a pretty tough play at $9,600.
UFC DFS players can probably still be satisfied with the fight. For one, Saturday’s UFC Fight Night Card was originally set for just eleven matches. Had the card gone off in that way it would have been a pretty tough slate for GPPs. It won’t be that much better when the twelfth fight is as low owned as this will be if Woodson is a $9.6k pick em’. However, if the inside the distance odds and other fight metrics pan out there could be enough ways to get contrarian to make this UFC DFS a bit more playable. Santos’ pricing will have an impact on this calculus, as well.
