Will Brian Robinson Jr. or Antonio Gibson shine on Sunday Night Football? Ahead of the Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants Sunday Night Football matchup, let’s take a look at the Brian Robinson Jr.-Antonio Gibson DFS and fantasy football ranking.
Brian Robinson Jr.-Antonio Gibson DFS, Fantasy Football Ranking
Per the Stokastic expert DFS projections, Antonio Gibson ($7,600) ranks as the slightly better DFS value play on the showdown slate over Brian Robinson Jr. ($8,000) due to the difference in pricing.
In the weekly fantasy football running back rankings, Robinson (No. 19 on the board) ranks slightly ahead of Gibson (No. 21). And with the player compare tool, Robinson projects to 13.17 points, while Gibson projects to 12.95.
After a season-ending injury to J.D. McKissic, the Commanders backfield has turned into a true two-back system, with Robinson taking most carries and Gibson being more of a threat as a pass-catcher. Over the past five games, the Commanders have only used a running back other than Robinson or Gibson for eight offensive plays.
Since recovering from a scary preseason injury, Robinson has run for 563 yards and two touchdowns, but has added very little in the passing game (eight receptions for 42 yards). Gibson has 515 rushing yards, plus 42 receptions for 326 yards and two touchdowns.
Commanders head coach Ron Rivera recently spoke on how the team has benefited from their running identity with Robinson now complementing Gibson after figuring out the flow of the NFL.
“He played in Weeks 4, 5, and 6 but we knew he wasn’t ‘B-Rob’ yet,” Rivera said, via NBC Sports. “It was gonna be a little bit of time. Then as we got further and further into it, and the Bears game (in Week 6) really kind of showed us, hey, this is the start of who we can be. And it just started coming together and kept coming together.”
Luckily for Robinson and Gibson, they’ll be going up against a Giants team that ranks 18th in fantasy football points allowed to opposing backs, giving up over 150 rushing yards in three of their past four games.
The rankings for Brian Robinson Jr. and Antonio Gibson are about as tight as possible heading into SNF, but we’re giving the slight edge to Gibson given his pass-catching prowess.
