Quarterback

Skylar Thompson (Miami) — With Tua Tagovailoa expected to sit, Miami will field two healthy quarterbacks. Mike White looks like the clear backup over Skylar Thompson in this situation, but both could receive up to a half. Thompson provides superior mobility and headlines the position on Friday night.

Tommy DeVito (New York Giants) — With Daniel Jones potentially sitting out, New York should enter this game with two healthy quarterbacks. Tyrod Taylor should operate as the clear backup, with Tommy DeVito operating as the third string. Expect both to play around a half.

Adrian Martinez (Detroit) — Jared Goff only played 10 snaps in preseason Week 1 last year. He could sit out entirely, leaving Detroit with two healthy quarterbacks. Nate Sudfeld and Adrian Martinez could each take a half. Martinez is an undrafted free agent with elite mobility.

Running Back

Godwin Igwebuike (Atlanta) — Cordarrelle Patterson only played two snaps last preseason. Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier should both play but in a limited capacity. This leaves just Godwin Igwebuike and Carlos Washington Jr. to handle a majority of the work.

Devon Achane (Miami) — Jeff Wilson Jr. and Raheem Mostert have been banged up in camp and will not play. This leaves Miami with four backs. Achane has been elite in camp so far. Salvon Ahmed and Myles Gaskin will be deeper options behind him.

Demetric Felton (Cleveland) — Jerome Ford is injured, and Nick Chubb only projects for a few snaps. This leaves three healthy backs in Cleveland. Felton led this group with 35 snaps in the Hall of Fame Game and looked good doing so.

React App

Eric Gray (New York) — New York has limited Saquon Barkley‘s snaps during camp and likely will hold him out. Gary Brightwell also got injured on Aug. 9. This leaves four healthy backs. Of this group, Eric Gray and Jashaun Corbin project for the most work. Gray was a 2023 fifth-round pick.

Mohamed Ibrahim (Detroit) — Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery are not expected to play much, if at all. Craig Reynolds missed practice on Aug. 9. Jermar Jefferson got injured in practice on Aug. 9. Devine Ozigbo and Benny Snell were signed on Aug. 9 and Aug. 10. With this late-news goldmine, Ibrahim could end up seeing more playing time than anyone else on this slate if injuries break his way.

Wide Receiver

Erik Ezukanma (Miami) — With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle expected to sit, Miami projects to field eight healthy receivers. Even players like Cedrick Wilson Jr. and Chosen Anderson may see their reps limited after working primarily with Tagovailoa to this point in camp. Ezukanma is a 2022 fourth-round pick who has battled injury in camp. Now healthy, he should receive ample playing time as he competes for a roster spot. Other options include Freddie Swain and River Cracraft.

Rakim Jarrett (Tampa Bay) — Tampa Bay projects to sit their veteran receivers, leaving eight healthy options. Jarrett is a 2023 undrafted free agent and should see a lot of work after having a good camp and working with Kyle Trask. Other options include Deven Thompkins, David Moore and Trey Palmer.

Charlie Jones (Cincinnati) — Cincinnati projects to sit their starters, leaving nine healthy receivers. Jones is a 2023 fourth-round pick and should be a slot candidate and see ample opportunity in the preseason. Other options include Andrei Iosivas and Kwamie Lassiter.

Anthony Schwartz (Cleveland) — Anthony Schwartz played 61 snaps in the Hall of Fame Game as he fights to make this roster. Mike Harley Jr. played 39 as the second-most active receiver behind him. Cleveland only has nine healthy receivers, so both are solid options, as is Cedric Tilman.

Antoine Green (Detroit) — Detroit projects to play 10 receivers. A 2023 seventh-round pick, Green has struggled with consistency, according to Campbell. This could actually help him get on the field more as he attempts to make the roster. Other options include Dylan Drummond, Maurice Alexander and Denzel Mims.

Michael Wilson (Arizona) — Arizona projects to play 10 receivers tonight. A 2023 third-round pick, Michael Wilson is having an excellent camp by all accounts and ascending the depth chart. He should get looks alongside Andre Baccellia, Davion Davis and Zach Pascal.

Tight End

Darnell Washington (Pittsburgh) — Pittsburgh only has four tight ends on their roster, and one is veteran Pat Freiermuth. Washington is a 2023 third-round pick and is ascending the depth chart quickly.

Luke Musgrave (Green Bay) — Green Bay only has four tight ends. Musgrave has worked as the clear TE1. A second-round pick, both he and Tucker Kraft should receive plenty of opportunity.

Cole Turner (Washington) — Logan Thomas is injured, leaving Washington with four tight ends. Cole Turner is a 2022 fifth-round pick with strong receiving chops.
