Yahoo NFL Picks: Week 8 Monday Night Football | Giants at Chiefs Tonight

Tonight the Kansas City Chiefs are hosting the New York Giants in the featured Monday Night Football matchup, and Yahoo Fantasy is offering NFL DFS single-game contests. The general concept of creating a team remains the same, but this is a one-game player pool. The twist is that any position player can be rostered, and one is designated to receive a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo fantasy points. Using Awesemo’s expert NFL projections and rankings, these are the top Yahoo NFL picks for the Week 8 Monday Night Football game tonight.

Yahoo NFL Picks: Week 8 Monday Night Football

Top SUPERSTAR Options

The SUPERSTAR position will get a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points in the single-game format.

Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs – $31

While Patrick Mahomes projects for nearly 10 more points than any other player tonight when using the SUPERSTAR multiplier, he also is $10 more than the next option on the salary list. If any of his pass catchers see multiple touchdowns, they are likely to have a better fantasy performance than their quarterback. Tyreek Hill is the most likely of the Kansas City players to see a multi-touchdown game, and while that has not happened yet this season, he has scored in five games and topped 185 yards receiving twice. Hill has outscored Mahomes only once this season, but in those giant-field tournaments this could be an edge.

Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs – $30

Although Travis Kelce does not have the same upside as Hill, he does have a similar median projection and generally a safer fantasy floor. Kelce has a two-touchdown game, and he had two last year and four in his last 22 games, counting the playoffs. Though he is listed as a tight end, Kelce is really a giant receiver who coach Andy Reid schemes into mismatches with linebackers unable to keep up with him and defensive backs unable to outmuscle him. Although he has not topped 20 Yahoo points since Week 2, Kelce has logged double-digit fantasy performances in all but one game.

Yahoo NFL Core Picks

Daniel Jones, New York Giants – $28

This has been a tough stretch for Daniel Jones, who has only one touchdown passing in his last three games. However, he was knocked out early in one of those games and has been missing multiple receivers for most of the season. Tonight is the first time he should have a full complement of wideouts with Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton and rookie Kadarius Toney. Kenny Golladay and Saquon Barkley are still out, but finally having help and in a matchup against one of the worst defenses in the league, Jones could produce fantasy fireworks tonight.

Darrel Williams, Kansas City Chiefs – $15

So far Darrel Williams has provided mixed fantasy results, with a two-touchdown game against Washington and then a single-digit dud last week in Tennessee. He will get the first crack at the workload over Jerick McKinnon ($13), and Williams is a strong option in the red zone behind Kelce.

Yahoo NFL Value Picks

Kansas City Wide Receivers

It is hard to pinpoint the best of the Kansas City pass catchers after Kelce and Hill. Demarcus Robinson ($10) has logged the most snaps of any wideout, but he has just 20 targets, albeit with two going for touchdowns. Mecole Hardman ($13) is arguably the most dynamic of this trio, and his 40 targets are third on the team. However, he disappears and never seems to capitalize on his opportunities, with only two 10-fantasy-point games this season and just six in his last 32 games, including the playoffs. Finally, Byron Pringle ($12) has three more targets than Robinson on half as many plays. Any one of this motley crew could score a touchdown and work their way into the optimal lineup.

Final Thoughts

This should be a fun game, with a lofty 52 projected point total and plenty of viable fantasy options from both teams. The top-end options have appropriate salaries, and there are a plethora of players down the salary sheet that could easily contribute 15 fantasy points if things go their way.
