Kemba Walker Over 21.5 Points: -106 (BetMGM, as of 9 a.m. EST)
The Celtics were up 2-0 in this series and had to survive another second in game three to push the Raptors to the brink of elimination. Unfortunately for them, OG Anunoby had other plans, and his buzzer beater in Game 3 gave the Raptors life, and now the series stands at 2-2 heading into Game 5. This is as crucial of swing game as you can find in the series, and it feels like whoever wins this ultimately will survive and advance.
If the Celtics are going to win today, they are going to need a big effort from Walker. This is where I am going with my prop bet today, as his point total stands at 21.5 across the industry. I am leaning over, but first I want to emphasize how important shopping this line is. Currently I see mostly -120s across the industry, but over at BetMGM the over is listed at -106, which is a huge steal and where we are getting value. I still like this up to -120, but paying less juice will add up over time.
In Game 4, Walker took just nine shots, and he was the first to admit that was not nearly enough volume for a player of his caliber. In Games 1-3 he averaged nearly 15 shots a game, and that included a blowout Game 1, so I expect him to approach upward of 20 attempts in this one. The Raptors are a quality defense, but the aggressive mindset of Walker should produce the type of volume we want here. It does not mean his shots will fall, but getting to the line and into the paint should set us up for success on a prop I believe should be shaded more towards Walker eclipsing this point total.
