MUST BET Lakers vs. Clippers NBA Player Props & Betting Picks Tonight | 2/3/22

For just the second time this season, the Clippers and Lakers will meet up in Los Angeles with both teams dealing with significant injuries. LeBron James is not expected to play, missing his fifth straight game with a knee injury. Anthony Davis is expected to go despite the Lakers being on the second leg of a back-to-back. The Lakers’ win over Portland last night snapped a three-game skid.

The Clippers have been without their top two stars for quite some time. It did not stop with just Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, as they have been riddled with injury beyond their two All-Stars. Ivica Zubac is questionable and may come down to a game-time decision. Either way, it bodes well for Davis and the Lakers frontcourt. Despite the injuries and chaotic shuffling of the lineups, the Clippers have won three of their last five games.

Best Lakers vs. Clippers NBA Bets Today & Odds Shopping

The easiest place to find the best bets in the NBA is on the one-stop shop for value and where to place a wager. Simply filter, sort the page and find the best return available across all books.

Lakers +3.5: -110 (DraftKings)

The Lakers are the better team with more stars on the floor, are playing in their home city and have the most dominant player in Davis on the floor at any given time. The Clippers are finding ways to win games and should not be taken lightly — both teams are below .500 — but they will not win this game. The line is north of a full possession, so it is hard to pass on the hook, but taking the Lakers to win outright is also a viable play. OddsShopper can provide the best line and return depending on a state’s legal offering, and in this case it seems like it is coming in gift wrap. Not having James will not hurt the Lakers as much as in prior games, as the Clippers do not have enough shooters — some, but not enough — to take advantage of the Lakers perimeter defense. Ultimately, this is a play on Davis winning the game for the Lakers.

Russell Westbrook Under 9.5 Assists: -125 (Caesars)

There is a decent gap here between projection and the book when it comes to Westbrook’s assist total. With James out, it stands to reason that Westbrook would make one or two fewer passes and take one or three more shots. Awesemo’s projection has Westbrook finishing with 8.5 assists. While bettors need to lay -125 points on the play, OddsShopper has a strong 65% chance of this prop hitting, plus a decent 17% xROI on the bet. Westbrook went 10 straight games below this number before clearing it in two straight, so it is best to get ahead of any regression.

Reggie Jackson Over 1.5 3-Pointers: -154 (BetRivers)

Outside of the rather large ask to lay -154 points, this bet works on multiple angles, especially targeting the Lakers perimeter defense. Reggie Jackson should be one of the bigger benefactors of going up against a team that encourages launching from 3. There should be enough volume for him to get to two makes, as Jackson should not do anything crazy either. Awesemo’s projection has Jackson finishing with 2.6 made 3’s, and OddsShopper sees a 73% chance this bet hits. The xROI is 21% on the play, which helps offset the larger amount of juice. People may be scared off by the -154, but this is a smart bet backed by data and game script.

Anthony Davis Over 9.5 Rebounds: -101 (BetRivers)

There is not anyone on the floor that can stop Davis from grabbing a bunch of rebounds tonight. Awesemo agrees, with a projection of 10.1 rebounds. With the matchup, and possibly no Zubac, this number could easily be bumped up an extra rebound. This is a perfect opportunity to simply ask Davis to hit 10-plus for nearly even money. OddsShopper sits at a 55% chance this bet goes over, along with a 10% xROI. It is a fantastic matchup, and Davis should not be limited by any minutes restriction.

Amir Coffey 4+ Made 3’s: +710 (FanDuel)

Heading back to the roots with the Long Distance Launch, this pick has an emphasis on long. Amir Coffey has one major thing going for him in hitting this prop: Volume. He has been giving a green light to take a bunch of 3’s each night, coming off nine attempts on Monday. In his last five games Coffey has had fewer than six attempts just once. He has had nine in two of those games. He has a great matchup against a Lakers perimeter defense that should make life even easier for Coffey.
