The Jackets were on a nice run prior to their top defenseman’s absence, but they have lost their last two games and scored just two goals total. The Devils have struggled much of the year defensively, with the league’s second-worst goaltending — just .898 when five-on-five. That said, their offense has been humming when healthy, including five goals or more in five of the last seven games, which lines up well against a Jackets defense that allows the league’s most scoring chances.
