Golf Betting: Euro Tour Betting Tips and Picks for the Qatar Masters + PGA DFS Euro (FREE)

Golf betting is on the rise in the U.S. but has been very prevalent across the pond for some time, both with the European Tour and the PGA Tour. This article will give three outright/each-way bets and one head-to-head matchup for a quick hitter, Euro Sweat.

When betting futures, one of the most important aspects is making sure you shop around for the best number available to you. Over time, this can make a massive difference in the results, so make sure to stay tuned for all the resources available to help you find the most value when looking across golf betting markets. Also, in golf betting, we use a term called “Each Way,” which refers to betting the golfer to win, top-five, top 10, and top-20.

Golf Betting Opening Remarks

The European Tour continues there trip through the Middle East and this time it takes them to Qatar, the site of the next World Cup. The course was designed by legendary Spanish golfer Jose Maria Olazabal and features three par 5s. It plays to a par 71, around 7300 yards, and this is the first time the European Tour has come to this course. It’s near Doah, so close to the Persian Gulf, with water coming into play in roughly half the holes according to the pre notes from the Tour.

Thomas Pieters & Martin Kaymer get a little boost in the field this week as Bob Macintyre & Matthias Schwab return from Mexico to add a touch of class to the field.

Head-to-Head Matchups

  • 4-4

Weekly

  • Clement Sordet: A top 10 for the Frenchmen who shows maybe course history is real, at least for him, at least here. A 6/1 payout for the top 10 and a 2.5/1 payout for the top 20.
  • Alexander Bjork: Alex hasn’t got it going this year, another missed cut this past week.
  • Justin Suh: My chase of the week did not pan out. Surprise Surprise. He missed another cut.
  • Head-to-Head Matchup: Sordet +140 vs. Jamieson, a big win here as well.

Roundup: I always try and change up the bets, so with that, I hope you all followed along the Sami Valimaki train that ended up with the win. Sordet’s top 10 instantly gives us another profit for the week, and Jamieson’s missed cut means a win on the head to head with Sordet as well. Suh and Bjork, not so much.

Golf Betting European Tour Player Focus

Matthias Schwab (25/1 Outright & Each Way)

We know the talent level is among the best of the newer Euro Tour players, but we probably don’t know how high he can climb. This field is wide open with Martin Kaymer being the headliner, which pushes Schwab’s odds into value range as the 6th guy on the board. He’s performed just as well as Bob Macintyre, whose 18/1 this week. I’ll take the longer odds with Matthias as my horse for the week.

Connor Syme (80/1) Outright & Each Way

Connor had his second top in only five starts last week in Oman but is still not getting love in these shorter fields from the oddsmakers. His game was good all-around previous week, gaining strokes in every category, showing confidence throughout the bag.

Johannes Veerman (150/1) Outright & Each way

The young American is making his way on the European Tour and has endured a positive start to his first year on tour. He’s made every cut, at least on the European tour, dating all the way back to the Czech Masters last year. Over that span, he’s added two top 10s and four top 20s in 10 starts. Pretty good results for someone at 150/1.

Rasa’s Euro Golf Betting Corner

Although we don’t focus on Euro Tour that much, both Ben and I love a little Euro sweat. Here’s Ben’s bet for the week.

Hao Tong Li (33/1) Outright & Each Way

Li has had an up and down Mid East swing where he missed a few cuts, but also found himself inside the top 25 in both Saudi Arabia and last week in Oman. We know Hao Tong has plenty of experience all over the world, and with this course having more questions than answers, I like the multiple angles we can bank on when trying to find avenues to success. The field isn’t overly strong with Pieters and Kaymer leading the way, so there is no reason to think Hao Tong won’t be in contention if he can avoid the blow-up holes.

Golf Betting Matchup

Min Woo Lee (Even) vs. Justin Harding

By now, we’ve seen enough of Justin Harding to know that he relies on his putter to play well. While that strategy may work from time to time, it’s not the most ideal way to be consistent in the professional game, at least over a long period of time. Min Woo Lee, on the other hand, posses power and sometimes finesse, which makes him dangerous on any given week. I’ll take him for even money vs. Harding every week.

Quick Notes for This Week’s Contests

DraftKings is offering $3,000 to first place for the $8 buy-in. It is not a bad sweat starting tonight at 10:25 p.m. EST. Here are a few golfers to target:

  • Maverick Antcliff ($6,500)
