Carson’s Production in 2020

Expectations for Rashaad Penny to finally have a healthy year let Carson fall down the draft boards to around the third round. Playing in just 12 games, he rushed for 681 yards (25th among backs) on 141 carries (30th) and added 37 receptions (18th) on 46 targets (21st) for 287 yards (20th), totaling nine touchdowns (16th). That was a pretty respectable season for only playing in 12 games.

Carson’s Outlook in 2021

Carson should still be in the discussion for being a top-12 back. While the masses love the passing attack, they seem to forget one thing: Pete Carroll wants to run the football. Despite Russell Wilson‘s production, Carroll continues to push the rushing agenda. If Seattle continues to run the ball at a high rate, Carson’s upside is immense. The defense should also make a leap this season, following much stronger play down the stretch. Getting a running back on a team that loves to run the ball with little competition behind him is ideal. Even more ideal is getting that player in the third or fourth round (his current ADP).
