The Jock MKT Starter Kit: NBA Picks | Feb. 23
How to Play at Jock MKT
To begin, enter the NBA Daily Market when the Initial Public Offering (IPO) phase is under way. Leading up until the start of the first game, bid up on players you are interested in acquiring on the open market. Is there a player who you consider a favorite to finish at the top of the rankings? Invest as much or as little as you want in their fantasy performance, with shares beginning at $1 and ranging all the way up to $25. See potential injury news that could open up an opportunity for another player to acquire fantasy points? Make speculative bids for shares of the back-up, hoping for that news to break after the IPO phase is complete.
The next part of the game occurs during live trading. Unlike in regular NBA DFS where your plays are locked in, you can buy and sell shares of players while the games are happening based on their production and where you could see them finishing amongst the field. Track as current points, projected points, and live price for each player is updated in real time, allowing you to track the action and invest in an instant to account for news. Trading can be done all the way up until the final buzzer of the night’s final game.
At the end of the games, each player share is paid out based on their final rankings of fantasy points amongst the field. If the shares you own are worth more than what you paid, you win money. It’s as simple as that! For more information, go to jockmkt.com.

Strategy Session — Star Power
There are nine games scheduled for Tuesday, so there should be no shortage of star power. One of the big stars to possibly pursue during the IPO phase is James Harden. Kevin Durant (hamstring) will be out again, which will mark his fifth straight absence. Over the previous four games, Harden averaged 31.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 10.8 assists and 1.3 steals. Also helping his cause Tuesday is that he’ll be playing the Kings, who have the worst defensive rating in the league.
A key star duo to keep an eye on is Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook. The Wizards just played Monday in a game that went into overtime against the Lakers. Beal and Westbrook logged 44 minutes each. The Wizards are also scheduled to play four more times this week, so it’s possible that either Westbrook or Beal could be rested for this matchup. The Wizards are playing the Clippers on the West Coast, which further complicates matters. Also, facing the Clippers is no easy task, so avoiding both players could be a sound strategy.
As we continue to discuss some of the stars on the schedule, Stephen Curry (illness) will be one to monitor. He was a late scratch Saturday against the Hornets and is listed as questionable for Tuesday against the Knicks. He did go through practice Monday and had some added time off to recover, so there is a high likely that he will take the floor. Still, with his questionable tag, you might be able to snag him for a bit of a discount during the IPO phase.
My JOCK MKT NBA Picks for Tonight
Nikola Vucevic – The Magic are set to play the Pistons, a team they defeated by 9 points Sunday. Vucevic went off in that matchup, posting 37 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. With the Magic reeling from injuries, Vucevic has averaged 22.2 shot attempts over the last nine games. The result has been an average of 27.9 points to go along with 13.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists. Don’t be surprised if he dominates the Pistons again.
Cedi Osman – The Cavaliers just don’t have many healthy players left up front. Not only have they benched Andre Drummond while they work to trading him, but Kevin Love (calf), Larry Nance Jr. (finger) and Taurean Prince (ankle) are all injured. Enter Osman, who has averaged 15.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.6 steals over 11 games in which he has logged at least 30 minutes.
Saben Lee – If you don’t know who Lee is, I wouldn’t blame you. However, he could play a prominent role Tuesday against the Magic and probably won’t cost you much. Delon Wright (groin) is currently out, so Lee and Dennis Smith Jr. are the only point guards that the Pistons have left. Despite starting Sunday versus the Magic, Smith only played 15 minutes. Meanwhile, Lee played 33 minutes and produced 12 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. That likely earned him more playing time moving forward.
