To begin, enter the NBA Daily Market when the Initial Public Offering (IPO) phase is under way. Leading up until the start of the first game, bid up on players you are interested in acquiring on the open market. Is there a player who you consider a favorite to finish at the top of the rankings? Invest as much or as little as you want in their fantasy performance, with shares beginning at $1 and ranging all the way up to $25. See potential injury news that could open up an opportunity for another player to acquire fantasy points? Make speculative bids for shares of the back-up, hoping for that news to break after the IPO phase is complete.
The next part of the game occurs during live trading. Unlike in regular NBA DFS where your plays are locked in, you can buy and sell shares of players while the games are happening based on their production and where you could see them finishing amongst the field. Track as current points, projected points, and live price for each player is updated in real time, allowing you to track the action and invest in an instant to account for news. Trading can be done all the way up until the final buzzer of the night’s final game.

Strategy Session — Bad Defenses
There might only be seven games on the schedule, but there are plenty of bad defenses to exploit. Three of the five worst teams in the league in defensive rating will be taking the floor, and two of them will face each other when the Trail Blazers host the Pelicans. Another noteworthy bit of news for that game is that C.J. McCollum is expected to return for the Blazers, which would be his first game in two months. That said, he could be eased back into action, so taking a chance on him might be too risky.
The other team that ranks inside the bottom five in defensive rating who will be in action is the Timberwolves, who will play on the road against the Lakers. Normally that would make LeBron James a top player to target during the IPO phase, especially with Anthony Davis (calf) still out. However, the Lakers just played Monday and have five games on the schedule this week, including two back-to-back sets. There’s a chance that James will sit this game out for rest, so proceed with caution.
Another team that ranks poorly in defensive metrics is the Cavaliers, who will play on the road against the Heat. That could mean a big game is in store for Jimmy Butler, who has averaged 23.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 2.4 steals across his last 13 games. The Heat are also expected to get back Bam Adebayo (knee), who is listed as probable after missing four straight contests. His impending return could deal a blow to Kelly Olynyk, who averaged 16.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.8 steals across 35 minutes per game in his absence.
My Targets for Tonight
Zion Williamson – As previously mentioned, the Blazers are not a good defensive team. They also have depth issues up front with Jusuf Nurkic (wrist) out and Harry Giles (calf) listed as questionable. The last time he faced the Blazers, Williamson dominated with 36 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Look for him to shine again in what should be a high-scoring affair on both sides.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – The Thunder have engaged full tank mode. They have started to rest several players lately, the most notable of which is Al Horford, who also won’t play Tuesday. On top of that, Darius Bazley (shoulder) has also been ruled out. While Bazley hasn’t been efficient, he is among the scoring leaders on the team. That should mean even more scoring opportunities are coming for Gilgeous-Alexander against a Bulls team that has played at the sixth-fastest pace in the league.
Talen Horton-Tucker – If you want to grab a player on the cheap during the IPO phase, don’t sleep on Horton-Tucker. He played 28 minutes in a blowout win against the Warriors on Monday, finishing with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists. He’s scored at least 11 points in three of the last five games and could see added playing time again if this game gets out of hand early. If James sits out for rest, then Horton-Tucker could be in line for an even larger role.
