NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Optimizer & Ownership Projections for DraftKings & FanDuel

There is a small five-game NBA fantasy slate tonight. While it is not a big slate, there still is plenty of NBA DFS injury news yet to come out. NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | Dec. 2

*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. Initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.

SG C.J. McCollum — Grades: A, A | Values: B, A

Damian Lillard is out at least 10 days with an abdomen injury, and C.J. McCollum’s price has only slightly increased. McCollum sees a 5% usage bump with Lillard off the floor this season, and it leads to him averaging about 1.1 fantasy points per minute. Awesemo projects McCollum to play over 38 minutes tonight against the Spurs, so it could be a big performance from him. In Portland’s previous game, which was without Lillard, McCollum put up 28 points and six assists.

PG Anfernee Simons — Grades: B, C | Values: A, A

Another Portland guard to benefit from Lillard’s absence is Anfernee Simons, who has been solid off the bench for the Trail Blazers this season. Now he is thrust into the starting lineup, with Awesemo projecting him to play the second-most minutes on the team, at 31.8. He started last game with Lillard out, resulting in him putting up 12 points, six rebounds and five assists. It should be another solid outing for him tonight.

SG Tre Mann — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A

Josh Giddey is out for the Thunder again tonight. Due to his absence, Tre Mann has back-to-back games playing at least 30 minutes, and he even started last time out. While he struggled last game, the previous performance was strong, putting up 17 points, seven rebounds, one assist and three defensive stats. He continues to be extremely cheap. However, Awesemo projects him to play over 30 minutes once again. He is a smart salary saver on this slate who will allow for paying up to get a star.

PF Jaren Jackson Jr. — Grades: B, B | Values: B, A

With Ja Morant out, Jaren Jackson Jr. has stepped up his offensive game for the Grizzlies. He is coming off a dominating 25-point, five-block performance, and he was solid the game prior as well. Jackson faces the Thunder tonight, which is an above-average matchup. He is also a bargain on FanDuel, where he is close to a lock. All he needs his ample time on the floor, avoiding both foul trouble and a blowout situation, and with Morant out the blowout likelihood is less. If he stays out of foul trouble tonight, it should be another good performance.
