NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | Nov. 3
*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. Initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.
PG Fred VanVleet — Grades: A, A | Values: B, A
The only player in the rankings this morning that pairs an A grade with an A value is Fred VanVleet on FanDuel. He is $500 cheaper there compared to DraftKings, but he still looks like a decent play on DraftKings as well. He faces a Washington team that does not really strike fear from a defensive perspective, and they also match up in a way that should result in a competitive game. VanVleet is coming off a game in which he flirted with a triple-double. While his rebounding production last game is not sustainable, it is nice that he proved he has the upside for those games. According to Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool, VanVleet has a floor of about 36 points and a ceiling over 50. In other words, he looks like a high-floor, high-ceiling play tonight.
PG Devonte’ Graham — Grades: B, B | Values: A, B
According to Awesemo’s NBA Sports Betting Model, this Pelicans – Kings game is expected to have the second-highest total of the night, and it is easy to see why. Both teams rank in the bottom 10 in defensive efficiency, while the Kings rank third in pace.
Devonte’ Graham is looking closer to his former self after struggling much of last season. He has put up over 30 NBA DFS points on DraftKings in six of his eight games this season, and he averaged 24.75 in the two failed attempts. Facing the Kings tonight, there will be plenty of opportunities to do what he does best: Score. Brandon Ingram was also out last night with a hip injury. His absence makes Graham a better play, though he should be solid regardless.
C Richaun Holmes — Grades: B, B | Values: A, B
On the other side of the same game, the Kings will need Richaun Holmes to play well in this matchup. He has scored over 30 fantasy points in five straight games, and it includes a big 20-point, 10-rebound performance. Holmes has been about as consistent as there is at the center position this season, and in another high-pace game, he should continue to produce for those who play him. Awesemo’s projections have Holmes projected for another double-double plus about two blocks.
SF Nicolas Batum — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A
Since joining the Clippers, Nicolas Batum has revived his career. He has started each of his past four games and played over 30 minutes in two of his last three. Batum is a strong rebounder, grabbing 17 boards over his past two games. While his usage is low, he has still attempted double-digit shots in two of his past three games. Batum will also add some defensive stats. Given his price, Batum is a safe play tonight. Awesemo’s projections expect him to play about 30 minutes yet again.
