In NBA DFS and daily fantasy basketball as a whole, it is not as simple as rostering who we think the best play is. We have to consider the odds each individual player has of going off or busting. Nobody is a sure thing. With the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool, we have our own odds to help us navigate range of outcomes for NBA daily fantasy. These are some of the NBA DFS picks on DraftKings and FanDuel that have the best NBA DFS projections of booming or busting according to our tool.

NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom CandidatesÂ
Jordan Clarkson vs. Mavericks : $5,900/$5,300
27.9% DraftKings Boom/42.9% FanDuel Boom
Donovan Mitchell getting ruled out is the biggest slate changing news item of the day. Mitchell has a concussion and will not play tonight. Without him, Utah has a massive void to fill in the backcourt in terms of usage and playing time. This makes guys like Clarkson, Joe Ingles and Mike Conley all strong plays. Of the trio, Clarkson stands out to me the most. He could move into the starting lineup, but even if he doesn’t, he stands to gain the most playing time sans Mitchell. In addition, Clarkson leads the Jazz in usage at 29.2% when Mitchell is off the court.

Andre Drummond vs. Pistons: $8,800/$8,400
35.5% DraftKings Boom/40.9% FanDuel Boom
I have faded Drummond ever since the Cavaliers traded for Jarrett Allen. With the two big men in a timeshare, trusting playing time and production for the bigs became difficult. Last game we saw a chance from Cleveland. For the first time since the trade, the Cavs were willing to play Allen and Drummond together. This allowed both of them to play 28 minutes. Larry Nance Jr. was out that game, and it’s possible that Cleveland goes back to staggering minutes, but if he’s out, look for Drummond and Allen to share the court again.
Cameron Johnson vs. Thunder: $4,800/$4,600
34.9% DraftKings Boom/42.5% FanDuel Boom
For the second consecutive game, Devin Booker is out for the Suns because of a hamstring injury. When Booker is off the court, Johnson sees the biggest usage bump of any of the Suns starters. His usage rate is a healthy 23.2% without Booker on the court, and he scores 36.42 DraftKings points per 36 minutes. Last game, Johnson had a 25.3% usage rate with Booker injured, which was his second-best mark of the season. Phoenix is going to have to lean on Johnson until Booker returns to action.
NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Ben Simmons vs. Lakers: $8,200/$8,100
60% DraftKings Bust/44.3% FanDuel Bust
The Boom vs. Bust Tool does not like Simmons tonight, and neither do I. The Lakers have one of the stronger defenses in the league, particularly their interior, anchored by Anthony Davis. Since Simmons is reliant on getting to the rim to score his points, any matchup against strong shot blocking is an issue for him. He also plays at a loaded point guard position with strong options like Luka Doncic to pay up for.
