NBA DFS Picks: Prime Time Players

John Collins: Atlanta Hawks at Dallas Mavericks

DraftKings $8,000, FanDuel $7,600, Yahoo $37 Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 40.2%, FanDuel 32.3% Yahoo Fantasy 18.2%

Most of the analysis today is going to be from the Hawks at Mavericks game. Dallas is going to be missing both Luka Doncic (ankle) and Kristaps Porzingis (rest) tonight which makes the Mavericks a much more friendly matchup from a rebounding and points in the paint aspect.

John Collins is having a fine season averaging 19.0 points, 10.2 rebounds with 2.5 combined blocks/steals in 30.3 minutes per game. Over their last 15 games, Dallas is allowing 115.8 points per 100 possessions which is the third worst defensive efficiency in the league. They are on a back-to-back having played in Houston last night so the stars are aligning for the young Atlanta forward to have an excellent fantasy performance.

NBA DFS Picks: Good Value

Dennis Smith Jr: New York Knicks at Indiana Pacers

DraftKings $3,100, FanDuel $3,500, Yahoo $10 Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 58.6%, FanDuel 49.9% Yahoo Fantasy 45.0%

While this is not a great matchup, Dennis Smith Jr is the last point guard standing for the Knicks. Elfrid Payton is serving a one game suspension for his altercation with Memphis. Frank Ntilikina is injured and the only other guards on the roster are Damyean Dotson and Reggie Bullock.  Well you can add in Kadeem Allen if you are feeling generous.

There is not much else to say other than DSJ should approach 30 minutes and muck his way to 20-25 fantasy points.

Maximilian Kleber: Dallas Mavericks vs. Atlanta Hawks

DraftKings $3,800, FanDuel $3,900, Yahoo $12 Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 58.6%, FanDuel 49.9% Yahoo Fantasy 45.0%

With the news that Kristaps Porzingis is resting tonight, Maxi Kleber should find himself in line for 28-30 minutes barring foul trouble.  In 314.5 minutes this season without Porzingis and Luca Doncic on the court, Kleber is averaging 0.94 fantasy points per minute. In the ten games Porzingis missed in January, Kleber started half of them and averaged 29.2 minutes per game with 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 2.0 combined blocks/steals.

NBA DFS Picks: Risky Value

Dallas Mavericks Backcourt

Last night we saw both J.J. Barea and Ryan Broekhoff start in Houston. There is a decent chance that Barea gets the night off tonight as he has only played in 15 games this season and one back-to-back. The 35-year-old veteran has been dealing with injuries suffering a torn Achilles last season and an elbow injury this season. The only way he is going to be in my player pool is if he is announced as a starter. Delon Wright and Seth Curry are both fine options.

Jalen Brunson did disappoint last night, but he could end up doubling his minutes tonight. I probably would not roll with Broekhoff unless he is starting again as coach Rick Carlisle is great at adjusting for in-game matchups and he has no issue sitting guys. If Barea is announced out for rest, it would secure minutes for the other guard options.

NBA DFS Picks: SuperDraft

John Collins: Atlanta Hawks at Dallas Mavericks 1.4x multiplier

Collin Sexton: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors – 1.6x multiplier

Dorian Finney-Smith: Dallas Mavericks vs. Atlanta Hawks – 1.75x multiplier

Our standout SuperDraft recommendation for today is John Collins who was discussed above in the Prime Time Player section. Collin Sexton has seen an increase in his usage and field goal attempts. Over his last dozen games he is averaging 34.7 minutes per game and one fantasy point per minute. Finally we have Dorian Finney-Smith who is a m-e-h MEH fantasy option, but that is why he is getting such a high multiplier.  Last night he had 29 fantasy points which would turn into just over 50 with the multiplier.
