NBA Daily Fantasy Rankings from Awesemo’s Premium Big Board Tool Today | Karl-Anthony Towns 12/21/21

The NBA DFS Big Board is a one-stop shop for building lineups. It gives each player on the slate a Points Rating, Value Rating and Leverage Rating on a scale from 1 to 100, which allows you to easily decipher some of the top options on the slate. Let us dive into some of the NBA daily fantasy rankings using the Big Board and Awesemo’s NBA Projections.

NBA Daily Fantasy Rankings & Big Board Projections

Karl-Anthony Towns, C, Minnesota Timberwolves

DraftKings Points Rating: 95 | FanDuel Points Rating: 94

Towns has largely been a fantasy disappointment this season. He is averaging just 44.65 DraftKings points per game, which is more than 5 points below his average from last year. It represents a decrease of nearly 8 points from his career-best average from two years ago. That said, he should be asked to carry a larger workload on Tuesday given the team’s absences. They are going to be without Anthony Edwards, Patrick Beverley and a host of other players. Towns has increased his usage rate by 5.1% with Edwards and Beverley off the court this season, resulting in an average of 1.58 DraftKings points per minute. That represents a sizable increase from his average of 1.33 DraftKings points per minute overall this season.

Towns has the third-highest raw projection on Tuesday’s DraftKings slate, and he is cheaper than the two top options. That gives him the edge from a value perspective.

Jaylen Nowell, PG, Minnesota Timberwolves

DraftKings Value Rating: 98 | FanDuel Value Rating: 94

Sticking with the Timberwolves, Nowell should also benefit from the team’s current absences. They are particularly thin in the backcourt, so Nowell should be able to step into a sizable workload against the Mavericks. Awesemo has Nowell projected for 26.7 minutes on Tuesday’s slate. He can do some damage with that much playing time. He is averaging 1.08 DraftKings points per minute this season, and he is scoring at least 23.75 DraftKings points in back-to-back games. He has not played more than 19 minutes in either of those games, so he has excellent upside for his price tag.

Nowell stands out as a particularly strong play on DraftKings. He leads all players in boom percentage and optimal lineup rate using the Boom/Bust Tool, making him one of the better sources of value on the slate.

Alec Burks, SG/SF, New York Knicks

DraftKings Value Rating: 25 | FanDuel Value Rating: 96

Burks has one of the largest price discrepancies across the industry on Tuesday. He is priced at $7,600 on DraftKings, and he is tough to get behind at that price tag. However, his $5,600 salary on FanDuel makes him one of the best values of the day. He leads all players in terms of value rating on the FanDuel Big Board.

The Knicks have been absolutely decimated by COVID-19 in their backcourt recently, and they will be without R.J. Barret, Immanuel Quickley, Miles McBride and Quentin Grimes Tuesday against the Pistons. Derrick Rose is also questionable with an ankle injury after missing their last game. Things were so bad for the Knicks in their last game that Tom Thibodeau was forced to dust off Kemba Walker for 37.4 minutes. That still left nearly 41.1 minutes for Burks, who responded with 31.2 FanDuel points.

The only real issue with Burks is his projected ownership, which is expected to be around 47%. However, he has an optimal lineup rate of 51.3% in the Boom/Bust Tool, so he is still grading out with a positive leverage score. Burks is also popping in the Awesemo Player Prop Tool, which gives him a 71% expected win rate on his rebounding prop.
