Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

Boom/Bust NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & Picks

Boom: Anfernee Simons: $7,00 DraftKings/$6,500 FanDuel

54% DraftKings Boom/51% FanDuel Boom

After dealing Norman Powell and Robert Covington to the Clippers last week, the Blazers traded CJ McCollum, Larry Nance Jr. and Tony Snell to the Pelicans this morning. The group of players Portland will be receiving from New Orleans will not be available tonight and Damian Lillard (core) and Eric Bledsoe have been ruled out, leaving the Blazers with only nine healthy players. Automatically, Simons should handle a massive role. He has been a stud in the six starts he has made without Lillard and McCollum this season, scoring 47.8 DraftKings PPG.

In the 252 minutes he has played with Lillard, McCollum and Powell off the court this season, Simons has posted a team-high 29% usage rate, which is a 5.3 percentage point increase from his season average. Plus, Simons’ assist rate skyrockets 12.9 percentage points to a team-high 33.8%. These elite rates lift the guard to 1.1 DraftKings point per minute, and Awesemo is projecting Simons for 39 minutes tonight against the Magic, who rank 22nd in defensive efficiency. While he will be popular, Simons is a perfect example of good chalk and is a must-play for all formats. In Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool, the guard boasts a top-three Boom score on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Boom: Justise Winslow: $3,000 DraftKings/$4,500 FanDuel

70.3% DraftKings Boom/39.5% FanDuel Boom

Winslow is also an elite value to attack from the depleted Blazers. With the club down to nine players, the veteran should get the spot start and be forced to play a large role. Awesemo is projecting Winslow for 28.9 minutes, which is more than enough time for him to destroy his current price tags, especially at a bare minimum of $3,000 on DraftKings. Winslow is generating one DraftKings point per minute this season and 27 DraftKings points per game in the last 10 tilts he has eclipsed 25 minutes.

Winslow is one of the best values on the board for both sites, but at the minimum on DraftKings, he is far and away rating as the No.1 play on the slate in terms of Boom score.

Latest NBA DFS Content

Boom: Brandon Ingram: $9,200 DraftKings/$7,800 FanDuel

31.2% DraftKings Boom/48.8% FanDuel Boom

Sunday night, Ingram destroyed the Rockets for a season-best 63.75 DraftKings points. The Duke product will face Houston again tonight, this time without Josh Hart and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who were sent to Portland in the McCollum deal. Obviously, given the trade just happened this morning, McCollum and the players the Pelicans acquired from the Blazers will also not be active. With Hart and Alexander-Walker off the court this season, Ingram’s usage and assist rates have risen 1.5 and 8.8 percentage points, respectively, in a sample size of 269 minutes. This results in 1.2 DraftKings points per minute for the forward and Ingram could not ask for a better matchup than facing the Rockets.

Houston ranks dead last in defensive efficiency and third in pace. The Pelicans’ implied team total is the fourth highest of the night at 117.5 points and this contest’s total is also the fifth largest on the slate at 225.5 points. Ingram’s ceiling is over 50 fantasy points in Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool and while he is a terrific target on both sites, the forward is a core play at only $7,800 on FanDuel.

Boom: Jaxson Hayes: $5,500 DraftKings/$5,500 FanDuel

42.2% DraftKings Boom/48.8% FanDuel Boom

Hart’s departure to Portland also opens the door for Hayes to smash tonight in a starting role. Last week, Ingram missed one contest and then Hart missed back-to-back tilts. On all three occasions, Hayes entered the Pelicans’ starting five. With the promotion, the big man out of Texas delivered 32 DraftKings points in 30 minutes per game. Hayes is contributing one DraftKings point per minute this season and Awesemo is projecting him for 30.9 minutes tonight in this gorgeous matchup against the Rockets.

In addition to being the worst defense in the league, Houston is yielding the second-most points in the paint this season. Hayes should have zero issues beating his current price points in this spot and is a very valuable asset tonight, given he can be rostered as either a power forward or center on both DraftKings and FanDuel. For both sites, Powell owns a top-five Boom score on the slate in Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool.
