In NBA DFS and daily fantasy basketball as a whole, it is not as simple as rostering who we think the best play is. We have to consider the odds each individual player has of going off or busting. Nobody is a sure thing. With the Awesemo NBA DFS Boom vs. Bust Tool, we have our own odds to help us navigate range of outcomes for NBA daily fantasy. These are some of the NBA DFS picks on DraftKings and FanDuel that have the best NBA DFS projections of booming or busting according to our tool.

DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust Projections | Feb. 17
NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
Robert Williams vs. Hawks: $3,600/$3,100
45.3% DraftKings Boom/55.1% FanDuel Boom
For now, the projections assume that Daniel Theis will not play tonight. He missed yesterday’s game with a finger injury and is officially listed as questionable. If Theis is out, Williams immediately becomes one of the, if not the, top play on the slate. Splitting center minutes with Tristan Thompson, Williams played 20 minutes last night. That was all he needed to score over 30 DraftKings points. That particular production likely isn’t repeatable, but Williams scores well over a fantasy point per minute, so 20 minutes should get him close to 25 fantasy points.

Nikola Jokic vs. Wizards: $11,000/$10,500
45.2% DraftKings Boom/60.7% FanDuel Boom
The Nuggets’ injury report today is ridiculous. Will Barton, Paul Millsap, Monte Morris, Gary Harris and P.J. Dozier are all listed as questionable to play. It’s impossible to know who will suit up, but we do know that Jokic will play and likely play well. He is getting no help from anybody other than Jamal Murray, and Denver is leaning on Jokic heavily to stay competitive in games. This led to Jokic playing 38 minutes and scoring 43 points with a 34.7% usage rate last night.
Enes Kanter vs. Pelicans: $7,000/$6,600
27.9% DraftKings Boom/47.2% FanDuel Boom
Kanter had a very odd game last night. He racked up over 20 rebounds but fell short of a double-double since he wasn’t able to score. Kanter played 33 minutes, and I could see him surpassing that mark tonight. Portland is extremely short on bigs, with Harry Giles, Jusuf Nurkic and Zach Collins all injured. New Orleans has one of the bigger starting frontcourts in the league in Steven Adams and Zion Williamson, so the size of Kanter is a must for the Blazers in this matchup.
NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Trae Young vs. Celtics: $9,600/$9,500
65% DraftKings Bust/54.2% FanDuel Bust
It is tough for me to prioritize Young on this slate. There are a ton of pay-up options tonight, and Boston presents a difficult matchup. The Celtics have an above-average defensive efficiency and play at one of the slower paces in the league. Young also isn’t showing quite the same upside this season, which hurts his chances to boom in a significant way. He’s scored over 60 fantasy points just twice all season.
