Boom/Bust NBA Fantasy Projections | March 27
NBA DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
Karl-Anthony Towns vs. Rockets: $9,700/$9,900
27.4% DraftKings Boom/32.2% FanDuel Boom
After playing Houston last night, Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves run it back again tonight. He had a “boom” performance yesterday, finishing the game with 29 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists against a bad Rockets team. Towns is fully capable of not only a repeat performance, but topping it, since he added just one combined defensive stat. With a couple blocks or steals, he has the potential to be the top NBA fantasy point scorer tonight, facing Christian Wood and possibly Kelly Olynyk in the frontcourt.
Robert Williams vs. Thunder: $6,600/$5,600
24.9% DraftKings Boom/64.4% FanDuel Boom
The Celtics traded away Daniel Theis and Tristan Thompson remains out hurt. This gives Williams the opportunity to play big minutes against tonight. All season long, it’s been noted that Williams just needs more opportunity to be a top play, and he has proven this to be correct. Playing 27 minutes last night, he finished with seven points, nine rebounds, six assists, two steals and a whopping five blocks. Facing a weak Thunder team today, Williams should continue to dominate the paint and swat shots all game. This price is too good to pass up, especially on FanDuel.

Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Knicks: $10,800/$11,100
22.7% DraftKings Boom/29.3% FanDuel Boom
The Celtics put up two good performances against Giannis Antetokounmpo the past two games, but he faces a Knicks team tonight that could struggle to slow the Antetokounmpo down. Antetokounmpo has faced them twice this season, averaging 25.5 points on 63% shooting, 11.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, two steals and a half block. With the Knicks playing solid basketball, this game could stay competitive, leading to Antetokounmpo shooting more. He should be efficient and a solid play either way, but we need 30-plus minutes for him to be in the “boom” projections.
NBA DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Thaddeus Young vs. Spurs: $6,200/$6,300
83.8% DraftKings Bust/71.4% FanDuel Bust
Thaddeus Young has been among the biggest surprises this season. He has put up big NBA fantasy point totals and has flirted with a triple-double often. However, the NBA Trade Deadline appears to have negatively affected him possibly the most. The Bulls were active, trading for big men Theis and Nikola Vucevic. While Theis will not play tonight, Vucevic will, and his presence and usage will likely take too much away from Young tonight.
