DraftKings + FanDuel Boom/Bust Projections | March 29

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Brodric Thomas vs. Jazz: $3,300 DraftKings/$3,600 FanDuel

29.8% DraftKings Boom/34.9% FanDuel Boom

You know it’s the tanking part of the NBA season when somebody like Thomas is a chalk play. Points per dollar, he clearly rates out as a strong play since he started last game for the Cavaliers and figures to start again today. Jarrett Allen is out because of a concussion, and Cleveland figures to play small with Larry Nance Jr. at center again. In cash games, play Thomas; he has the highest boom score of any player on DraftKings. There is concern with Thomas as a tournament play because of his popularity, according to the Awesemo Ownership Projections. He is currently projected to wind up in over 50% of lineups, with just 29.4% odds of landing in the optimal lineup. This makes him a less-than-ideal GPP option if his ownership doesn’t dip.

Saben Lee vs. Raptors: $3,800 DraftKings/$3,700 FanDuel

28.8% DraftKings Boom/41.5% FanDuel Boom

With Dennis Smith Jr. out for the Pistons, Lee should draw another start. He moved into the starting lineup last game when both Smith and Rodney McGruder were out, and it is the same injury situation tonight. Last game was the first start of the season for Lee, and he scored 25.25 DraftKings points in just 24.5 minutes. The playing time is a bit of a concern, although there is hope that he played well enough last game to get more run tonight. The Pistons are tanking at this point, so it makes sense to give more playing time to the young guys.

Moses Brown vs. Magic: $6,800 DraftKings/$6,500 FanDuel

19.3% DraftKings Boom/35.1% FanDuel Boom

The Moses Brown era is officially here. The Thunder are clearly committed to him for the rest of this season and the long run. Oklahoma City announced that veteran Al Horford would sit out for the rest of the season and then shortly after signed Brown to a multi-year contract. Based on what Brown has done so far, it looks like the Thunder found a diamond in the rough. Starting in place of Horford last game, Brown scored 12 points while pulling down 23 rebounds. Both marks were career highs, and Brown is averaging 37.8 DraftKings points as a starter. The sky is the limit going forward from a fantasy standpoint.

NBA Fantasy Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

Jimmy Butler vs. Knicks: $9,000 DraftKings/$9,300 FanDuel

56.9% DraftKings Bust/43.4% FanDuel Bust

The pace of a play is a massive concern whenever playing against the Knicks. This is made especially so when combined with the Heat, who also play at a slow pace. As a result, this game has a 204 total, which is the lowest on the slate by 10 points. In addition, the Knicks have one of the better defenses in the NBA. They are fourth in the league in defensive efficiency and one of the toughest teams to draw for DFS production.
