DraftKings & FanDuel NBA Fantasy Rankings Today

*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. The initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.

PG Josh Giddey — Grades: B, B | Values: B, A

The Oklahoma City Thunder will be the main source of value tonight as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who leads the team in points with 22.7 per game, is out until after the All-Star break. Josh Giddey is the first Thunder player that immediately pops into mind. In three games without Gilgeous-Alexander this season, Giddey is averaging nearly a triple-double with 17 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds. During that time he has averaged 48.3 DraftKings points per game. Per Awesemo’s ownership projections, Giddey is the highest-owned player on FanDuel and second-highest on DraftKings.

Not only is playing without Gilgeous-Alexander already a great spot for Giddey, but so is this matchup against the Trail Blazers. They rank 29th in defensive rating and 27th in points against, allowing 112.7 per game. The Trail Blazers also allow opponents to shoot a league-high 47.6% from the field and 37% from behind the arc. The Thunder are still not a good basketball team, as they have lost 12 of their last 13 games and are only implied to score 107 points. Awesemo projects Giddey to be the best value play on FanDuel, where he also has the highest boom percentage.

SF Luguentz Dort — Grades: B, C | Values: B, A

Back to the Thunder value well with Luguentz Dort, who has the second-highest boom percentage on FanDuel according to Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool. Dort is also popping as the second-highest owned player in Awesemo’s ownership projections on FanDuel. In four games that he has played without Gilgeous-Alexander, he has not seen much of a change other than his usage rate and field goal attempts climbing. Dort is second already on the Thunder in usage rate, but that number climbs from 22.1% to 26.9% per game without Gilgeous-Alexander this season.

Dort is also second to Gilgeous-Alexander in points, field goal attempts and minutes for the Thunder. He will likely be very active in this matchup. When Gilgeous-Alexander left due to injury last game, Dort popped off for 27 points while shooting 10-for-16 from the field and grabbing eight rebounds on his way to 47.5 DraftKings points. If Dort can dial it in from long-distance, he has a big ceiling against the Trail Blazers. Dort leads the Thunder with 7.4 3-point attempts per game. Tre Mann is another Thunder value play worth considering, but prioritize Dort and Giddey tonight.

PF Domantas Sabonis — Grades: B, B | Values: B, C

After missing four-straight games, Domantas Sabonis has returned and has not missed a beat. In his two games since returning, Sabonis is averaging 22.5 points, 16.5 rebounds and 9.0 assists per game. He likely would have had his fifth triple-double in his last nine games had their last game not blown out, resulting in only 29 minutes for Sabonis. During those last two games, he averaged 62.9 DraftKings points per game. The absence of Malcolm Brogdon and Myles Turner has paved the way for Sabonis to really reach his ceiling. Both players are out once again tonight.

Getting a double-double almost seems like a lock for Sabonis at this time. He has recorded 34 double-doubles in 46 games, which ranks third in the entire league. The double-double bonus and even the triple-double bonus, which he has had in four of his last nine games, provides so much upside on DraftKings. The Clippers rank sixth in defensive rating, which is impressive without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard basically all season. However, this game total is the second-highest on the slate with the Pacers favored by 2.5 points at home. Sabonis is reasonably priced on both sites to reach his ceiling.

SF Andrew Wiggins — Grades: B, B | Values: C, A

NBA All-Star starter Andrew Wiggins has an interesting ring to it, especially from a Timberwolves fan. It is deserving as Wiggins is second on the Warriors in points this season, as he has shot a career-high 48.5% from the field and 41.4% from behind the arc. Since being announced an All-Star starter, Wiggins has averaged 21.5 points per game while shooting 56.7% from the field and 56.3% from downtown. During those two games, he averaged 44.4 DraftKings points per game. He is proving that he belongs in the All-Star conversation with his play recently.

Playing against the Rockets really sets this matchup apart from anyone else on the slate. The Rockets rank last in defensive rating and first in pace. They allow a league-high 116.8 points per game as the Warriors are implied for a slate-high 119.75 points tonight. The Warriors are still 10.5-point favorites on the road without Draymond Green. Playing without Green has not really done anything to Wiggins other than solidifying his minutes. Stephen Curry also needs to be discussed. On FanDuel he is egregiously priced at $9,300 compared to $11,000 on DraftKings. He has shot a career-low 41.5% from the field and 37.6% from behind the arc, but the FanDuel price tag is out of control. According to Awesemo’s ownership projections, Wiggins and Curry are in the top four in ownership on FanDuel. They make for great plays against the Rockets tonight.
