Kyle Kuzma and the Wizards recorded their second win of the season on Wednesday, beating the Hornets in Queen City. Tonight the Hornets are in our nation’s capital, for a reprisal of this high-flying matchup. These teams combined for 248 points and the projected game total is currently at 239.5 for tonight.
Washington has a mostly healthy rotation, so even with this amazing game environment, we will want to be selective with which Wizards make the cut. Kuzma looks like a strong play on both DraftKings and FanDuel, with 5.6 fantasy point ration per $1,000 of salary on each site. After getting a four-year, $90 million contract from the Wizards this offseason and he has been the main focal point of the offense. So far he has scored at least 20 points in every game and he is averaging a career-high 25 points and 40 fantasy points.
Deni Avdija, Delon Wright and Danilo Gallinari are fine placeholder punts on DraftKings and FanDuel, though better value may appear leading up to lock as more news is released after shootarounds.
Terry Rozier is going to be out for the next 10 days or so, which means unfettered usage and opportunities for LaMelo Ball, who is no longer on any minutes restriction. He is a strong candidate for 50 fantasy points and anything less than mid-40s, which is what he produced in 36 minutes against the Wizards two days ago.
PJ Washington and Brandon Miller are fine tournament options if looking for a synergistic game-stack strategy and if Gordon Hayward (hamstring) is ruled out, this duo would move into play as stand-alone, secondary value options. In summary, these teams are both in the bottom-three from a defensive efficiency perspective and each are among the four highest paced offenses.
Anthony Edwards — Minnesota Timberwolves at San Antonio Spurs

This looks like the season where Anthony Edwards takes another step and cements himself as the main man on the Timberwolves. Currently he is averaging a career-high 27.9 points per game and his ability to score at all levels and in all facets of the game is likely to have him challenging for the NBA scoring title in a couple of years.
Per DraftKings scoring, Edwards has a pair of 50 fantasy point efforts and a foray into the 60 fantasy point stratosphere over his last three games. This is slightly less on FanDuel, though not by much. Minnesota is currently 6.5 point road favorites, which should be fun as this is a winnable game and San Antonio can be frisky at home, though the Spurs also have a 121.0 defensive efficiency rating which is the worst in the league.
Rudy Gobert stands out on both sites, with Karl-Anthony Towns, Naz Reid, Mike Conley and Kyle “Remember Me?!” Anderson popping up on DraftKings. The latter four players are in play on the FanDuel evening sub-slate, though the tournaments are not particularly large.

Jordan Poole has had some mercurial results, though that inconsistency has led to a reasonable 25.5 points + rebounds + assists (PRA) prop at -130. NBA Bet Pro currently has the volume scorer projected for 25.9 minutes, 20.26 points, 2.69 rebounds and 3.62 assists for a 26.57 PRA. The, -124 “True Odds,” which is how OddsShopper measures the potential expected ROI; does indicate that this a “good number” and it has a slightly negative -2% expected ROI.
Consistent minutes have been the main thing working against Poole as his defensive lapses and struggles from the field have led to a quick hook by his coach. Through the first seven games, Washington has been on the road five times, including the last four. Poole has topped tonight’s 25.5 PRA threshold three times, missing a fourth by just one stat. He gets a great game environment tonight and while we are likely to need him to play 27-28 minutes to pay off this wager, that is well withing the realm of outcomes.
