We have a nine game slate tonight with limited value. It is likely that more value opens up as the day goes on but, as of now, it is relatively difficult to get to the most expensive options.
Using Stokastic’s NBA DFS projections, let’s take a deeper dive into the player pool to discuss the top NBA DFS high-priced studs for today.

High-Priced NBA DFS Plays: Tyrese Haliburton
Stud No. 1 – Luka Doncic: LA Clippers at Dallas Mavericks
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $11,700/ FanDuel: $12,000
- Stokastic’s Point Projections: DraftKings: 61.2/ FanDuel: 57.9
- Stokastic’s Ownership Projections: DraftKings: 5.7%/ FanDuel: 6.4%
Luka Doncic has been difficult to prioritize on most slates this season and tonight doesn’t look any different. While Doncic is an outstanding fantasy producer, averaging 1.6 DraftKings points per minute this season, we don’t have enough value to easily get him into lineups at the moment. If value opens up throughout the day he will become a more appealing option, but he also has plenty of competition at slightly lower salaries and throughout the point guard position.
Stud No. 2 – Joel Embiid: Philadelphia 76ers at Detroit Pistons
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $11,200/ FanDuel: $12,200
- Stokastic’s Point Projections: DraftKings: 58.7/ FanDuel: 58.7
- Stokastic’s Ownership Projections: DraftKings: 7.1%/ FanDuel: 3.8%
Embiid is the second most expensive player on DraftKings and the most expensive player on FanDuel tonight. He also has the second highest projection on DraftKings and the highest projection on FanDuel. He has been excellent this season, producing 1.76 DraftKings points per minute. He has a 37.2 percent usage percentage and 29.5 percent assist percentage as he continues to be the primary scorer in addition to improving his assist numbers from previous seasons. It is difficult to find the salary for him but, if value opens up, he will become a top spend up option.
Stud No. 3 – LaMelo Ball: Charlotte Hornets at Washington Wizards
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $10,000/ FanDuel: $9,100
- Stokastic’s Point Projections: DraftKings: 56.9/ FanDuel: 54.0
- Stokastic’s Ownership Projections: DraftKings: 17.1%/ FanDuel: 49.7%
LaMelo Ball isn’t expensive enough that he would normally be included in this article, but he’s the only “pay-up” option getting double digit ownership right now so it felt like he should be included. While Doncic and Embiid are nice luxuries if you are able to afford them, Ball is a priority tonight- particularly on FanDuel where his price tag is broken.
He is facing a Washington Wizards squad that has played at the fastest pace in the NBA while allowing the second most points per 100 possessions this season. Ball has produced 1.31 DraftKings points per minute with a 28.5 percent usage percentage and 38.7 percent assist percentage in 32.2 minutes per game this season. His playing time has increased without Terry Rozier, however, with 39 minutes two games ago and 36 minutes last game in a game where he also lost a few minutes to a blowout.
There are nine games tonight so it will be important to pay attention to injury news throughout the day that could change the outlook of the slate. Be sure to check out Stokastic’s Deeper Dive and Live Before Lock shows.
