Joe Mixon, RB | Cinncinatti Bengals (Foot): We now have the clarity we were looking for earlier in the week regarding Mixon. The Bengals have ruled Joe Mixon “out” for week 7, dealing with a “foot” injury he sustained in week 6. Cincinnati has a week 9 bye, and the team may rest Mixon until the Bengals play the Steelers in week 10. Giovani Bernard, Trayveon Williams, and Samaje Perine will be the team’s three available running backs. Giovani Bernard looks to serve as the teams primary running back in Mixon’s absence and should be added where available in season-long leagues. Bernard will be an RB2 or flex type play this Sunday.
John Brown, WR | Buffalo Bills (Calf): John Brown did not practice this week. Brown has been struggling all season long with leg injuries. The Buffalo Bills have ruled Brown “out” for week 7. The team will look to Gabriel Davis to fill in until Brown is healthy enough to return.
Aaron Jones, RB | Green Bay Packers (Calf): Jones was held out of practice Friday dealing with “calf” tightness and is “questionable” for Sunday. The last-minute addition to the injury report does not bode well for Jones week 7 availability. It’s worth noting that Jones did meet with the media on Friday. Aaron states that he felt confident he could play, but the decision rested in the training staff’s hands. If Jones cannot play, Jamaal Williams is the next man up and would be a sneaky flex play on Sunday.
Emmanuel Sanders WR | New Orleans Saints (Rona): The New Orleans Saints have placed Emmanuel Sanders on the team’s COVID-19 list. This is exceptionally untimely, seeing that the Saints are also expecting to be without star receiver Michael Thomas Sunday. Thomas suffered a setback during practice tweaking his “hamstring” and is “doubtful” heading into week 7. The Saints are down their two primary pass catchers and now turn to Bennie Fowler, Tre’Quan Smith, Marquez Callaway, and Deonte Harris to mix in playing roles in three-wide sets. (update): Thomas has officially been ruled “out.” Fowler was moved to IR.
