Goga Bitadze Over 7.5 Rebounds (-120, SugarHouse)

With the Indiana Pacers down both of their top two big men in Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner, other players are getting the opportunity to play increased minutes in the post. Goga Bitadze took full advantage of the 35 minutes he was given on Saturday. The Georgia native posted a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double and added a block for good measure. This marked Bitadze’s second straight game scoring in double figures. It was also his second game in a row going over tonight’s NBA player props line of 7.5 rebounds. In each of the three recent games in which he has seen at least 25 minutes of action, Bitadze has finished with no less than eight boards.

There is certainly no reason to believe that Bitadze will have his playing time significantly reduced tonight as the Pacers already ruled Sabonis out for this game. Furthermore, with tonight’s matchup coming against a stout rebounding opponent in the New Orleans Pelicans, Bitadze’s presence on the floor will be needed to try and offset Jonas Valanciunas. With a projection of 8.91 rebounds, Awesemo likes his chances of topping the NBA betting total again tonight. OddsShopper shows bettors that one sportsbook has already moved this line up to 8.5 boards. While the rest of the market continues to linger at 7.5, extra juice is required to bet the over. Even at the price of -120, this wager is still given an expected ROI of 24%.

Josh Giddey Under 13.5 Points (-115, Caesars)

While Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Josh Giddey has been scored in double figures in eight of the last ten games, he has only topped 11 points four times over that stretch. Furthermore, Giddey has been held below the 10-point threshold in two of the last three contests. In those two games, Giddey shot a combined 7-28 from the field. Considering his recent shooting woes, it is hard to get excited about playing over an NBA player props line that sits two full points higher than his per-game scoring average of 11.5. While the opponent Chicago Bulls are not the best defensive team in the Association by any stretch, they do average a slower pace than Oklahoma City which could translate to fewer possessions for both sides.

Bettors also have an opportunity to gain an advantage on the market by carefully choosing where they place this wager. OddsShopper currently lists a discrepancy between sportsbooks. While the consensus line is 13.5, one shop does have Giddey’s scoring prop listed a full point lower at 12.5. In addition, various books list hefty amounts of juice on the under at 13.5. Awesemo’s projection of 11.61 points falls much closer to Giddey’s season average than the NBA betting total. Along with a 63% win probability, this under prediction is given an 18% ROI when claimed at optimal -115 odds.

JaVale McGee Under 9.5 Rebounds (-105, Caesars)

JaVale McGee has done a nice job filling in over various stretches when the Phoenix Suns were without starting center Deandre Ayton. However, he still rarely exceeds much more than 18-20 minutes of playing time per game. With Ayton officially tabbed as doubtful for tonight’s contest, McGee will be in line to start once again. Unfortunately, the matchup comes against a Utah Jazz team that has the second-best rebounding rate of any team this season. While it does appear that star Jazz center Rudy Gobert will be held out of tonight’s contest, it would not be a shock to see Hassan Whiteside make his return from health and safety protocols. Whiteside was a late scratch yesterday after being listed as questionable for conditioning purposes.

The fact that McGee would need to corral a minimum of 10 rebounds to go over tonight’s NBA player props line of 9.5 is pretty hard to fathom. From a talent perspective, McGee will have to work hard to outmuscle either Gobert or Whiteside on the glass. Furthermore, OddsShopper shows one sportsbook listing McGee’s rebounding prop one notch lower at 8.5. Awesemo heavily favored betting under the higher line of the two. With -105 odds offering up to 15 cents of value compared to other listings, bettors should make sure to take advantage. The resulting ROI for this prediction at the best price is a healthy 25%.
