Edge: Week 15 NFL Best Betting Picks | Steelers vs. Bengals

Last Monday night the AFC North gave us a barnburner for the ages between the Ravens and Browns. I think it’s safe to say the Steelers and Bengals won’t be doing the same this week. Pittsburgh is in serious need of a win to stop its two-game losing streak and is in a near-perfect spot, favored by two touchdowns on the road. I’m digging for a couple of prop bets to fade the Bengals at some low numbers for this week’s NFL best bets for Monday Night Football. Let’s get into the NFL betting picks.

NFL Best Bets: Week 15 Monday Night Football Picks + Props

Bengals Team Total: UNDER 13 (-120, multiple books)

The Bengals offense has been a wreck as the season has progressed, and now it gets a tough test against a Pittsburgh defense that’s among the best in the NFL. These two teams met in Week 10, and Joe Burrow was able to put just 10 points up in that matchup. Since then, the only time the Bengals scored more than 9 points was 17 against the Giants.

Cincinnati is averaging just 10 points per game over the last five games and has scored exactly 7 points in consecutive games — including against a bad Cowboys’ defense. Brandon Allen wasn’t able to do much with this offense, and I don’t think Ryan Finley will be able to either — which we’ll back in another bet.

Ryan Finley Passing Yards: UNDER 194.5 (-125, BetMGM)

The Steelers have the NFL’s third-ranked pass defense in terms of yards per game, giving up 202.2. That isn’t a number from just early season success either; it’s held strong recently, as they have given up just 197.7 passing yards per game over the last three contests. Enter Finley, who will start for the now injured Allen.

Going back to Burrow’s last full game, he passed for 213 yards in his last full game, which was against Pittsburgh. Burrow is obviously a much better talent and was on pace to potentially break some rookie yardage records. Since Burrow went down, Allen has posted 136 yards against the Giants, 153 yards against the Dolphins and 213 yards against a Dallas pass defense that ranks near the bottom of the league.

Finley has just played in parts of games this season, but the accumulative numbers are not good — 10-for-19 for 75 yards and two interceptions. It is tough to imagine much success against Pittsburgh. The fact that this passing prop is set just a couple yards short of what other quarterbacks have averaged against the Steelers this season is laughable.
