Week 8 Best NFL Player Prop Bets

Josh Allen, Over 23.5 Completions, -114 (FanDuel)

This matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins should be closer than anticipated, considering the teams have records heading in opposite directions. It’s still a divisional contest, and that’ll keep it close enough for Allen to come through with enough completions. Allen is just coming off a season-high 35 completions last week, so the rhythm is certainly there.

According to Awesemo’s Player Props Tool, Allen going over 23.5 completions has an expected win rate of 70% and an expected return on investment of 31%. Last week, we highlighted the Miami secondary allowing the sixth-most receptions in the NFL and took Matt Ryan with this same exact prop bet going over 23.5 completions. Allen is a much better quarterback on a team that throws the ball at a high rate.

Jonathan Taylor: Under 79.5 Rushing Yards, -114 (Caesars)

Taylor’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans won’t be easy, as they are allowing the ninth-fewest yards per carry in the NFL. When the two teams met back in Week 3, Taylor was held to 64 rushing yards, falling well short of expectations. Tennessee’s run defense is legit, as evidenced by Taylor’s 64 yards in Week 3 being the second-highest total it has surrendered through the first seven games. In his lone matchup against the Titans last season, Taylor only ran for 12 yards on seven carries. The mode of attack against Tennessee has been through the air (273.6 yards allowed per game), so it’s possible that Taylor gets more involved in that aspect rather than on the ground.

According to Awesemo’s Player Props Tool, Taylor going under 79.5 rushing yards has an expected win rate of 72% with an expected return on investment of 38%. Only one running back (James Robinson) has managed to rush for more than 70 yards in a game against the Titans this season.

Cooper Kupp: Over 95.5 Receiving Yards, -115 (Caesars)

At this point, it’s not wise to doubt Kupp in any regard. Even in this blowout matchup against the Houston Texans, this is not someone we should shy away from. That didn’t slow Kupp down in his last two games, also against lesser opponents, as he hung 9-130-2 and 10-156-2 stat lines on the New York Giants and Detroit Lions in back-to-back weeks. Kupp has only landed below 90 receiving yards in all but one of his seven games this season.

According to Awesemo’s Player Props Tool, Kupp is projected to have 115 receiving yards and go well over his prop number. This bet has a 65% expected win rate with an expected return on investment of 22%. The Texans allowed two other superstar receivers (Stefon Diggs, D.J. Moore) to have 100-plus yard days against them earlier this season. Kupp has been gifted with at least 10 targets in every game so far.
