Marquette has a quality offensive attack that includes four players averaging 10 or more points on the season, but defensively they haven’t been able to find timely stops in numerous games. Lately it has been a struggle, with losses in four of the last five, though all five games were decided by 10 points or less. Add in that four of those games were at home, and heading into Villanova is a brutal spot for a team searching for a marquee win.

Villanova sits atop the Big East standings at 7-1 and is looking to improve their seeding come March. If they close strong, they could and probably will be a No. 1 seed. They rely on a potent offense that includes a heavy dose of 3-point shooting. They have four players who have made at least 20 3’s on the season, and they will look to fire from the outside any chance they get. Their offense ranks fifth in efficiency in the country, per Kenpom, but their defense ranks outside of the top 50.
