There is a tiny three-game NBA fantasy slate tonight. Despite that, NBA DFS injury news will be a big part of tonight’s process. Be sure to check the Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page to see who is in, who is out and who is starting as news breaks, and look at the NBA DFS rankings and projections for both DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | Dec. 14
*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. Initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.
C Chris Boucher — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A
The Toronto frontcourt is in rough shape, as O.G. Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Khem Birch are all listed out tonight. This thrusts Chris Boucher into a large role. Awesemo projects him to play 25.7 minutes in the game. The projections also list Boucher as the top overall NBA fantasy value play on FanDuel and the second-best value play on DraftKings. He has been solid with an increased role lately, and that role will grow out of necessity.
PG Derrick Rose — Grades: C, C | Values: A, B
R.J. Barrett is out a second straight game for the Knicks. In his absence last game, Derrick Rose ended up taking 16 shots and finishing with 18 points and seven assists. Facing the Warriors, the Knicks will again need Rose to be aggressive on the offensive end, leading to a solid fantasy day. Awesemo’s projections list Rose as the top overall NBA fantasy value play on DraftKings, where he is $1,200 cheaper than on FanDuel.
PG Cameron Payne — Grades: C, C | Values: A, B
The Suns are on the second leg of a back-to-back, so it would not be entirely surprising for Chris Paul to see a reduced workload after playing 33 minutes last night. Devin Booker also remains out for Phoenix, which has already expanded the role of Cameron Payne. Payne has kept a cheap price while playing a steady role for the Suns. Awesemo projects him to play 21.5 minutes, though he has played more than that in three of his past four games. If Paul does see fewer minutes than normal, Payne should do much more than simply return value.

SG Gary Trent — Grades: B, B | Values: B, A
The Raptors face the Nets, meaning their offensive game will need to be on point. One of the players Toronto needs to get hot is Gary Trent Jr., who has been a bit inconsistent on the offensive end. He has hit at least four shots from 3-point range in two of his past three games. However, that third game resulted in no made shots from downtown. But at a reduced price, look for him to bury some of these shots and return value. Awesemo projects Trent to make 2.97 3-point shots in tonight’s game.
