NBA DFS Building Blocks Today: Friday, December 9
Core Play of the Day — Bogdan Bogdanovic: Atlanta Hawks-Brooklyn Nets
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 26.69 | FanDuel: 25.38
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings: 32.50% | FanDuel: 35.50%
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $4,100 | FanDuel: $4,400
Dejounte Murray is out for at least two weeks with a left ankle sprain, so it should come as no surprise that Bogdan Bogdanovic is going to be a core building block for lineups tonight. He gets a great matchup against the Brooklyn Nets and with Murray out, he should have the ball in his hands a lot. After missing the first 22 games of the season with a knee injury, Bogdanovic saw his minutes increase to 25 last game, and expect that number to only go up as he works his way back. Bogdanovic is one of the top value plays on the DraftKings slate at only $4,100, and despite being a tad more expensive on FanDuel, he still looks like one of the top points-per-dollar plays at any position.
Core Play of the Day — Deni Avdija: Washington Wizards-Indiana Pacers
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 28.24 | FanDuel: 28.21
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings: 35.60% | FanDuel: 30.30%
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $4,800 | FanDuel: $5,500
While Bogdanovic might be the best value play on the slate, Deni Avdija looks like the top mid-range play at affordable price points on both DraftKings and FanDuel. While he might seem expensive at $4,800 on DraftKings and $5,500 on FanDuel, Avdija is gets a huge boost with Bradley Beal off the court and he’s in a great spot tonight against a Pacers team that ranks 24th in the league against opposing small forwards. While Avdija is certainly more solid than spectacular, he played 39 minutes on Wednesday night with Beal on the sidelines, and he’s a cog in the machine in all formats tonight.
Additional NBA DFS Building Blocks Picks Today – Sports Wagering Opportunities
Tonight, PJ Washington has a 1.5 over/under line on his 3-pointers prop for his matchup against the Knicks. Stokastic’s NBA DFS projections have him for 2.18 3-pointers and a 64% likelihood that he reaches this threshold. These types of wagers with a high likelihood of success but a lower payout upside is best used as a leg in a straight or same-game parlay.

New York Knicks-Charlotte Hornets
In what looks like the potential game of the night for NBA DFS, there is a lot to like on both the Knicks and the Hornets tonight. LaMelo Ball, Dennis Smith Jr., and Gordon Hayward all remain out for Charlotte, making Terry Rozier and Kelly Oubre Jr. elite plays in all formats at affordable price points. PJ Washington is also wildly in play, and he’s too cheap at $5,800 on DraftKings and $5,900 on FanDuel.
For New York, Obi Toppin is out, but other than that they come into tonight healthy. In a great spot against Charlotte, however, the Knicks are too cheap across the board on DraftKings. Julius Randle stands out at $7,900 after a monster performance last time out, while RJ Barrett also looks good at $5,900. Jalen Brunson’s price tag is down to $6,800 and even secondary pieces like Immanuel Quickley and Quentin Grimes make sense as spend down options at cheap price points.
