Prime Time Players

Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe: Milwaukee Bucks at Denver Nuggets

Middleton: DraftKings $7,600, FanDuel $7,000, Yahoo $29; Ownership Rating (preliminary run): Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 45.5%, FanDuel 52.1% Yahoo 39.0%

Bledsoe: DraftKings $5,700, FanDuel $6,200, Yahoo $20; Ownership Rating (preliminary run): Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 57.6%, FanDuel 40.5% Yahoo 35.3%

We are seeing a bit of a repeat from yesterday, albeit on a much smaller slate. Yesterday, the DraftKings $8, 150-max, $350,000 contest saw Khris Middleton at 77.7% ownership and Eric Bledsoe at 66.7%. That will probably be even higher tonight, so the real question is what will the tipping point be for each of us individually?

This year in 665.5 minutes without Giannis Antetokounmpo on the court, Khris Middleton is averaging 1.44 fantasy points per minute. While his overall efficiency drops, his usage rate increases from 20.7% to 32.8% and his assist rate from 17.3% to 24.7%.

Eric Bledsoe has played 469.6 minutes without Giannis and he too is averaging 1.44 DraftKings points per minute under these conditions. Similarly, his usage rate increases from 24.2% to 35.9% and his assist rate from 19.9% to 31.2%.

Yesterday, Ersan Ilyasova drew the start and did not take a single field goal attempt in 15 minutes. Marvin Williams played 26 minutes off the bench with five points, five rebounds, three assists and a block. Denver has a bigger frontcourt, so both of these guys will be in the mix again.

Good Value

Dewayne Dedmon: Atlanta Hawks vs. Charlotte Hornets

DraftKings $4,100, FanDuel $4,700, Yahoo $13; Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 20.9%, FanDuel 5.1% Yahoo 12.8%

Because I am planning on going heavy with the Bucks and there are just five other teams in the player pool, we need to find some contrarian options. Charlotte has been in the bottom third of the league all season in rebounds allowed to opposing frontcourts. While the Hornets are essentially playing at a snail’s pace, they are hemorrhaging points, allowing 112.6 per 100 possessions this season.

Dewayne Dedmon is quick enough to work around Cody Zeller and big enough to not be bothered by Bismack Biyombo in the event he is back in the rotation. In his eight games since returning to the Hawks, Dedmon is averaging 1.1 fantasy points per minute.

Yahoo Fantasy NBA DFS Discount Dandies

  1. Donte DiVincenzo: Milwaukee Bucks at Denver Nuggets – $14
  2. Marvin Williams: Milwaukee Bucks at Denver Nuggets – $10
  3. Cody and Caleb Martin: Charlotte Hornets at Atlanta Hawks – $10

NBA DFS Picks: SuperDraft

  1. Rudy Gobert: Utah Jazz vs. Toronto Raptors – 1.50x multiplier
  2. Terry Rozier: Charlotte Hornets at Atlanta Hawks – 1.65x multiplier
  3. Devonte’ Graham: Charlotte Hornets at Atlanta Hawks – 1.5x multiplier

Our standout SuperDraft recommendations for today include Rudy Gobert who is among the best center options today in a very thin pool. Next we have the Hornets’ backcourt duo of Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham with outstanding multipliers against a team that will drag them to play at a faster pace. Then of course, before you ask, play the Bucks as you see fit.

Final Thoughts

We are waiting on news about Fred VanVleet and whether or not Marc Gasol will play on the second half of this back-to-back after missing 15 games. Additionally, the duo of DeAndre’ Bembry and De’Andre Hunter are both questionable for Atlanta.
