January 14 NBA DFS Pick: Devin Booker

Now, Awesemo sets his sights on today’s NBA slate, with some seriously good matchups on several daily fantasy sites.

NBA DFS Pick: Devin Booker ($8,200 DraftKings, $8,700 FanDuel) Grades: A, A; Values: A, A

Awesemo’s top value stud on tonight’s slate is Devin Booker, projected for one of the highest outputs on the slate at a relative discount. Booker, long a high-volume scorer, is having the most efficient season of his career. He is averaging 25.8 points a game, just shy of his career-high 26.6 from last year, but doing so on almost two fewer shots per. Booker’s 62.2 true shooting percentage is the best of his career by a wide margin, but he is still providing the volume to make his efficiency worthwhile for NBA DFS.

He is also averaging 6.5 assists per game (15th highest in NBA), a number that should tick up tonight with Ricky Rubio not playing. Booker is already dominating usage for Phoenix — team high 28.8 percent — and Rubio’s absence bodes well for a ceiling performance from the young guard. Phoenix’s 115 team total is not overly high compared to other teams on the slate, but opponent Atlanta is both one of the fastest-paced and worst defensive teams in the NBA. They are an NBA DFS player’s dream opponent and with Booker’s high potential tonight, he makes for a top play in all formats.

Awesemo is also targeting a multi-faceted player with triple-double upside on this wide open slate. He could be in line for a 60-point night in an optimal matchup. Rostering this player in your daily fantasy lineups could be the key to success heading into into the NBA season.
