In his return from a 15-game absence due to a wrist injury Wednesday, Payne started at point with Paul and Booker inactive and finished with 25 DraftKings points against the Blazers. Given the Suns won this game by 30 points and this was Payne’s first game in nearly two months, he only saw 20 minutes of work.

However, in a more competitive setting against the Knicks this evening, Payne should find himself in the 25-30 minutes range. The Suns are only 6.5-point favorites and this contest’s total is set at a very solid 222.5 points. In the 318 minutes Payne has played with Paul and Booker off the floor this season, he has led the Suns with a 29% usage rate and also handled a strong 34.7% assist percentage, resulting in 1.2 DraftKings points per minute. On both DraftKings and FanDuel, Payne is severely underpriced for his expected workload and is rating as a top-10 value on the slate for both sites in Awesemo’s NBA projections.

Boom: Giannis Antetokounmpo: $12,300 DraftKings/$11,300 FanDuel

Giannis has been a monster as of late, generating 66 DraftKings points per game over his last five starts, and this impressive run should absolutely continue tonight against the Bulls. Since the start of the new year, Chicago ranks 25th in defensive rating and this tilt’s total is the high mark of this nine-game slate at 240 points. Additionally, the Bucks boast the second-largest implied team total of the night with 122.5 points and this game is expected to stay competitive throughout, with Milwaukee only favored by five points.

Boom: Aleksej Pokusevski: $5,200 DraftKings/$4,900 FanDuel

With the Thunder extremely thin Wednesday, most notably without Josh Giddey (hip) and Lu Dort (shoulder), Pokusevski got the spot start and posted 35.25 DraftKings points across 29.2 minutes against the Nuggets. With Pokusevski as a member of the first unit, Oklahoma City impressively won this game by 12 points on the road and Pokusevski finished as a +21 in the plus/minus category. Given these results, the second-year forward should remain a starter tonight against the Wolves with Giddey and Dort once again ruled out. Awesemo NBA Projections have Pokusevski for 28.9 minutes and with Giddey and Dort off the court this season, he has provided one DraftKings points per minute behind a 20.2% usage rate in a sample size of 374 minutes.

Minnesota ranks third in pace this season and this contest’s total is the third-highest on the slate at 230.5 points. Pokusevski is averaging 31 DraftKings points per game for the seven occasions he has logged at least 25 minutes this season and should effortlessly exceed five-times value on both DraftKings and FanDuel in this strong environment.

Boom: Isaiah Roby: $4,600 DraftKings/$6,500 FanDuel

In another spot that requires Roby’s size, going against Karl-Anthony Towns tonight, he should receive around 30 minutes of work again, barring bad foul trouble. In the six contests Roby has cracked the 25-minute mark this season, the big man has been efficient with 34 DraftKings points per game and at a very reasonable $4,600 on DraftKings, he is rating as a top-five option on the slate in terms of Boom score in Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool.
